The National WWII Museum tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world—why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today—so that all generations will understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. Offering a compelling blend of sweeping narrative and poignant personal detail, The National WWII Museum features immersive exhibits, multimedia experiences, and an expansive collection of artifacts and first-person oral histories, taking visitors inside the story of the war that changed the world. Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday to commemorate Veterans Day! We were honored to welcome 11 WWII veterans to campus as we celebrated their service and sacrifice. It was also a privilege to partner with the City of New Orleans and Mayor's Military Advisory Committee to recognize city leader and retired Marine Joe Threat as Veteran of the Year. Veterans Day also marked the opening of our latest special exhibition, Fighting for the Right to Fight: African American Experiences in World War II.
