This Veterans Day, we remember and honor all who have served. Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice. Today, we are sharing the story of our employees who protected and supported our country during World War II, through their military service and wartime production efforts. Yesterday, we continued our tradition of welcoming children of our employees for trick-or-treating at our Sheboygan location. It was great to see all the smiles and great costumes!
Another product-based blast from the past on this Throwback Thursday: The Wed-Gee Vise. Made of cast aluminum, it could be screwed to a work bench and held any width from 1/8 inch to 2 inches. It was touted as "the tool that makes a carpenter out of the guy who always pounds his thumb." It sold for $1.98 in 1955. Years ago, we found a handwritten letter from our founder, Jacob Vollrath. The writing provided a glimpse into the realities of our company's infancy. Times were tough and the future was uncertain. Today, as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Vollrath's founding, we felt it was time to write Jacob back.
For 150 years, our company has been built by the hard work and steadfast dedication of our employees. They are the very fabric of the unique culture that helps us succeed.
In the 1950s, we introduced the Dreamboat Line of marine hardware. It was touted as America's only stainless steel boat equipment, including a steering wheel called the "Vollrath Viking." #TBT #Vollrath150
