We partner with employers to provide inmates with meaningful employment upon release.
About us
Over 2.2 million Americans are incarcerated today. Upon their release from prison, formerly incarcerated people often face social stigma and employment barriers that prevent them from attaining a job. Research has shown that without meaningful employment opportunities, many of these men and women will return to prison in as little as 3 years. To help break the socially and financially destructive cycle of recidivism (the tendency of a formerly incarcerated individual to re-offend), The Redemption Project empowers incarcerated people through virtue-based education, mentoring opportunities while incarcerated, and partnering with employers to provide meaningful employment upon release. We believe that bringing an end to recidivism begins with a good job and having the character and integrity to keep it!

- Huge thanks to Union Pacific for becoming a second-chance employer with The Redemption Project. The Union Pacific Railroad Foundation started their partnership with us in 2023 with a grant of $20,000 to help create systemic change in the hiring and employment practices of businesses across Minnesota. Their support and partnership are helping us provide inmates with the values, skills, relationships, and ongoing support needed to be successful; and employers with the understanding and knowledge to develop a successful second chance hiring program. Thank you, Union Pacific, for helping us promote the value of second chance employment to every business as a common good principle for society! #secondchancehiring #criminaljustice #prisonreform
