Huge thank you to Dr. Eric Hequet and the Office of Research and Innovation at Texas Tech University, for inviting me to speak at the AI Symposium - https://lnkd.in/ep2zY-qE - on the `trivial` topic of “Future-Proofing Humanity: Navigating AI’s Ethical and Social Impact” no less! It was great to be back at my alma mater after nearly 17 years, sharing my experience and views on AI, from the fictional “The Great Automatic Grammatizator” to the real societal impacts of AI today, re-skilling to keep up with those changes, and prudent regulation mechanisms to ensure safe and open development without stifling innovation. To share it at the place that laid the foundation for my work in the field made it even more special. It was great to hear from lawmakers and other industry leaders on how they are preparing for the ways in which AI is upending our lives, and to share with them all the ways in which we are incorporating practical AI into our Tech and Creative stack here at TripleLift. As a proud alumnus, it was even more fantastic to hear from educators, on how they have quickly adapted to learning and teaching AI skills, and from researchers on how they have been applying AI, and its older, semantically similar, cousin - Machine Learning - to solving real-world problems in Agriculture, Bio-sciences, Aerospace, Defense, Education and Research. Thank you again, and here's to the future of learning
