About us

The Office of the President is the system wide headquarters of the University of California, managing its fiscal and business operations, and supporting the academic and research missions across its campuses, labs and medical centers. Together with the university’s executive leadership, the Office of the President helps give shape to a vision for the university, managing the activities that are central to UC's public mission and essential to the idea of one university. Our employees manage multibillion-dollar fiscal and business operations with a clear focus on strengthening the financial health of the whole system. They establish policy frameworks that guide how UC’s academic and research missions are carried out across a complex network of campuses, labs, medical centers and community outreach programs. They work to ensure legal and ethical compliance, manage risk and support the health and well-being of the university's diverse workforce. They promote the university’s interests and fight for its future in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. UCPath proudly hosted the annual UC Payroll Directors Conference, welcoming over 60 payroll directors and leaders from across the University of California system. Held on October 10-11, the event provided a valuable opportunity for collaboration, sharing best practices, and discussing key payroll initiatives that impact the entire UC system. The two-day event featured a year-end update, an overpayment working session, and a tour of March Air Force Base. Attendees enjoyed a fun location swag swap and dinner at a Riverside restaurant. Discussions on final pay, labor relations, contracts, and UCPath portal enhancements followed on day two. The conference concluded with remarks from Christina Saint Martin, Production Director and Jaime Espinoza, Principal Analyst from the Payroll COE, along with the ceremonial passing of the bell to Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) for next year’s event.
