About us

UMR is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides livelihood and disaster relief and recovery services to the underserved, specializing in the Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and Child Protection sectors. Global emergencies as a result of conflict, climate change and chronic fragility are the new normal. In our interconnected world, such emergencies are of unprecedented and exponentially complex scale. Our mission is to provide agile and sustainable development in the face of emergency and rapid socioeconomic and political change.

UMR’s President and CEO, Dr. Abed Ayoub, with His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkiye. President Erdogan was the keynote speaker and guest of the Turkish-American National Steering Committee (TASC) Gala in New York City. Dr. Abed was invited to the Gala by Turkish and Muslim-American leaders for his work and relationship with the people of Turkiye.
Certification of Special Congressional Recognition was awarded to UMR by NY Congresswoman Grace Meng in recognition of the "Save the People" program by UMR in collaboration with ITV. This domestic program makes a significant contribution to the communities, it grew from feeding 50 people to over 400 people per month. This growth and its contribution to the community caught the attention of the State of New York. We thank Congresswoman Menk and the people of New York for their recognition.
