Agrain in HBO's Zero Waste Chef 📺 In case you missed it, and if you’re looking for something to watch the coming weekend, Zero Waste Chef on Max (HBO) is an absolute must-see. Why? Because it’s an incredible show, and if you need that little extra push to tune in... WE’RE IN IT! Zero Waste Chef is an inspiring series by HBO that follows chefs, producers, and food innovators around the world who are working to reduce food waste and transform leftovers into incredible creations. Season 1, Episode 3 highlights Denmark and Copenhagen, showcasing how the country's food industry is leading the way in upcycling and sustainability. In this episode, you’ll see us! You will see how leftovers from Nørrebro Bryghus’ beer production are transformed into Agrain by Circular Food Technology’s spent grain flour, baked into bread at Jalm&B (Foodpeople A/S), and finally turned into a stunning dessert made by Matthew Orlando at the now former resutaurant Amass and who currently is Co-Founder of endless food co. ♻️ Host Diego Garcia-Vega will truly take you on a journey, so buckle up and enjoy the ride. While the IPA Beer Buns made by Jalm&B and which are featured in the episode are no longer available, their story remains a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we embrace innovative solutions to reduce food waste. We’re incredibly proud to have been part of this circular food journey and to share the spotlight with such inspiring innovators. A big thanks to HBO (Max) for providing a platform to demonstrate the potential of upcycled ingredients and the fight against food waste. Haven’t seen it yet? Our hearts have been with Southern California all week, and they're breaking at the devastation wrought by wildfires. We don’t just serve the greater Los Angeles community—we also live and work there, as it’s home to one of our major fulfillment centers. We’ve checked in with all our employees and drivers in the impacted areas and are relieved to report that everyone is safe. Our hardworking teams are continuing to deliver to residents throughout the city, prioritizing safety above all. We're also offering our customers in LA County free shipping on orders placed by 1/14, and supporting the community in the way we know best: with nourishment. Our work to create a more sustainable food system by reducing food waste—which mitigates climate change—wouldn’t be possible without donation partners that help ensure food goes to its highest outcome. We’ll continue to support the incredible food access efforts of longtime partners like Hollywood Food Coalition, Food Forward, Elim Food Pantry, Until We Rise, and La La Farm. We're also helping supply water and prepared meals to residents through Hollywood Food Coalition and distributing energy bars and healthy snacks to firefighters and front line workers in Pasadena as they work tirelessly in the days to come. If you're looking for ways you can help, you can support Los Angeles Regional Food Bank (a network member of Feeding America, a longtime Misfits Market partner) as they work with more than 600 partner agencies to assess needs and provide immediate assistance. And if you or someone you know needs emergency food support, visit LAFoodBank.org/find-food to located resources near you. - Upcycled Food Association reposted this
