Congratulations to our teams at our community medical centers in Culpeper, Haymarket, and Manassas! All three hospitals received 'A' grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group. In honor of #WorldDiabetesDay, meet Marc Breton, PhD, an associate professor of research at the School of Medicine working with our Center for Diabetes Technology. Breton's research centers on bringing engineering techniques including mathematical modeling and automatic control into the field of medicine. The UVA Health Department of Urology had an amazing turnout for the 2024 Bill Steers 5K last Saturday! 🏃♂️ Nearly 200 participants ran in the 20th anniversary of the race. While some aspects of the event have changed, one thing remains the same – each year, runners raise awareness and funds for urological health, including prostate cancer and survivorship. They also run to honor the memory of the late Dr. Bill Steers, a former urology department chair and champion of men's health and wellness. Bill's widow Amy waved this year's starting flag and their sons Ryan and Colin ran in his memory.
