- Last week’s Venture Cooperative call took us deep into Laconia’s investment process, covering everything from deal sourcing to the core of due diligence. Cohort members got an inside look at how Laconia assesses potential investments and what it truly means to build a venture portfolio. We also defined a “Laconia founder”—someone with grit, self-awareness, and humility. They know their strengths and weaknesses, share the spotlight, and build up their team. What has been the biggest takeaway you’ve learned so far?
- Huge thank you to Alejandro Grau-Perales, Ph.D. for your feedback on the Venture Cooperative program 🙏 As we dive into Cohort 7, we're excited to see the energy and passion each new member brings. It’s inspiring to watch everyone—regardless of background—embrace the journey of learning venture capital together, supported by our robust resources and the amazing network we’re building. Thank you all for your enthusiasm and for spreading the word!
- Taking a moment to congratulate Preeti Adhikary, a Venture Cooperative fellow, on becoming a General Partner at Momo VC! From founding The Great Nepali Diaspora to connect global Nepali professionals, to her new role at Momo VC, Preeti is always looking to make a difference, and we know this is just the beginning. Congrats, Preeti!

Working to uplift underrepresented people is in my DNA. It’s what I was born to do 😇 From building my #community The Great Nepali Diaspora two years ago to connect global Nepali professionals to now supporting #entrepreneurs that are often overlooked, I think it’s high time I publicly share that I’m a General Partner at Momo VC with Sajan Gautam! MOMO isn’t just food for folks from #Nepal (& the region). It’s comfort, it’s love, it’s home. It’s the ethos we’re bringing to #venturecapital in terms of building ecosystems and democratizing access to information, resources & networks 🙏🏽

🎤Join me on Oct 3 at Data Engineering and Machine Learning Summit as I talk about 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗟𝗠𝘀. 🔥Last year, the event was attended by 3500 data practitioners so needless to say this year will be even bigger with the most anticipated lineup of speakers in data space. 🙏Lucky to be sharing the stage with such amazing friends and speakers Benjamin Rogojan Zach Wilson 👨🏻💻Jean-Michel Daignan 🤖🎮 🎧 Eric Riddoch whose work I have personally followed for years now. 📜In my hour long talk, I will answer many big questions I have been asked repetitively over the past year - * how much data do I need for my LLM application * how do I ensure iterative data quality for my LLMs * how to handle massive datasets, prevent data repetition and memorization * inference-efficient data storage and finally, I will show you how to use advanced data filtering techniques, including for, bias and toxicity filtering as well as how to create and manage datasets for multimodal fine-tuning and so much more #dataengineering #generative #LLMOps - Congratulations to our Venture Cooperative fellow, Uzo Amuzie, for being invited to speak at Innovating for Good hosted by Mentor Me Collective!
