More than 450 Wellstar team members gave back to our communities yesterday during our annual Day of Service, which supported over 20 organizations in the metro Atlanta, West Georgia and Augusta areas. Wellstar President & CEO Candice L. Saunders joined team members at MUST Ministries, serving the community at a mobile pantry at a local Veterans Affairs clinic. Today, we recognize Genetic Counselor Awareness Day. The Wellstar Center for Genetics determines if you may develop or carry certain genetic disorders. We have a large team of licensed, board-certified genetic counselors who provide counseling for oncology, cardiovascular, neurological, prenatal and other hereditary genetic conditions. A referral is not typically required to meet with a genetic counselor. We serve patients in nine locations and offer virtual consultations. Learn more at http://spr.ly/6043sPnJD.

To grow KSU’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing enrollment, in 2020, Wellstar committed nearly $9 million over five years to fund nursing scholarships and the hiring of new nursing faculty and staff.
