Sixty-eight gorgeous, handmade quilts were donated to Child Life Services in the Women and Children’s Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, by the incredible quilters at Friends in Stitches. Congratulations to our ROSE Award* honoree, Jeff Lapierre, OT! Jeff was nominated by a pediatric patient's family: “My nine-year-old daughter accidentally cut her hand last winter and required surgery in January. After getting her cast off she saw Jeff Lapierre, Clinical Specialist, for occupational therapy (OT) at Marsh Brook, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Our family had not seen anyone for OT before, so this was our first time. Jeff is fun and easy going and my daughter always looked forward to her appointments with him. I would often hear them teasing each other and laughing during her appointment. My daughter was diligent in doing her strengthening exercises at home and this was encouraging for Jeff to see. After being discharged from OT, she was teary eyed on the way home because she wouldn’t see Jeff anymore on a weekly basis. I think that right there shows what a dedicated employee Jeff is and his ability to connect with his patients!” [Jeff is holding a drawing that this pediatric patient drew for him.] *The ROSE Award (Recognition of Staff Excellence) was created as a way to recognize the excellence of compassionate caregivers. #SeacoastNH
