Two words: WorTH it! I really enjoyed my first time at SoCal Women's Leadership Summit hosted by Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) yesterday. Somehow also combined this with Infinity Festival Hollywood next door, it was a whirlwind! Some inspirations from WiTH:Sandra Lopez reminded me it's better to drop the mantle of "one of the guys" if I ever find myself doing that. Not just for me, but for womankind. How will we ever get comfortable with women taking up more than 17% of the space in tech unless we're really doing it? The panel I'm reposting below: so many educational resources I didn't know about, whether it's code with STEM Advantage, Technology Goddesses, Codetalk St. Joseph Center or just building things with DIY Girls, which sounds more like my girl. The neurodiversity panel: great learning about how disclosure of a mental disability can help or hurt, and what companies can do. At Infinity Festival: So many creators revealing their process in the respective spaces they're in - AI, immersive (VR / XR etc.). My takeaway was that one can throw old pipelines out the window and be more successful with the tools available today, but that a creative vision is still a MUST. Thanks again Christina Aguilera for keeping this up, and next time I will remember to recruit others to join!

Thank you Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) for inviting me to speak on the Non-Profit Alumni Panel at the SoCal Women’s Leadership Summit 2024. I woke up today still feeling overwhelmed and just full of inspiration from each and every panelist and speeker, moderator and interviewer I got to witness throughout the day yesterday. The most emotional part for me was to see the leadership awards and when my panel moderator April (Cadiente) Schneider received hers I couldn’t stop crying, it was so emotional and impactful. Every single speaker made a huge impact on me and made me think about my future and what I want that future to look like, how to curate that with intention, confidence and empathy. A standing ovation to all of you (and those who attended as guests, I met some pretty incredible people):Christina Aguilera, Vice President of Product, Enterprise Technology, Crunchyroll, and President, WiTH FoundationGuy Finley, Executive Director, WiTH Foundation Gretchen Libby, Director Media & Entertainment Specialists, AWS Media & Entertainment, Games & SportsSandra Lopez, Co-Chair, North America, Sport Integrity Global Alliance, and Founder & Investor, Ambi VenturesApril (Cadiente) Schneider, WiTH Foundation Board Member & Vice President IT, IP Management & General Counsel, Sony Pictures EntertainmentMadison Ma, Goddesses Alumna & Sr Engineer, QualcommHan Pham, STEM Advantage Alumna & Software Engineer, Walt Disney CompanyAlyssa Rubalcava, DIY Girls Alumna & UCLA student majoring in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental BiologyOlga Krasovski, Director Solution Architecture, AWS Media & Entertainment, Games & SportsRebecca Beam, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, ZavikonTara May, Chief Executive Officer, Aspiritech Anna A. A week ago, I had the opportunity to kick off Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) with the opening keynote. As I brainstormed with Brandon Rodríguez about the message I wanted to deliver, I was reminded of a pivotal moment in Spring 2011 when I had the privilege of hearing Meg Whitman, Marissa Mayer, Sheryl Sandberg, and Carly Fiorina speak. Their key takeaway resonated deeply: "Never let your fear overwhelm your desire to aim high." Thirteen years later, that message remains just as powerful. In fact, it inspired the focus of my keynote: to thrive in today’s business and professional landscape, we need to adopt a warrior mindset. Being a warrior isn’t about aggression or conflict—it’s about cultivating resilience, focus, adaptability, and purpose. It’s about meeting challenges head-on and navigating them with confidence and grace. It’s about pushing forward to ensure we have women, people of color, veterans, and individuals with disabilities in influential roles, shaping the development of emerging technologies and the content that informs society daily. And when you reach the summit, remember this: always send the elevator back down. Let’s pave the way for the next generation of leaders to aim high and break barriers. Thank you, Ana Miren Achaval for the incredible opportunity and the trust you placed in me to deliver the opening keynote. Through this experience, I rediscovered my warrior spirit—and for that, I am truly grateful.#Leadership #Warrior #Tech #Media #WomeninTech #Business - Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) reposted this

Apologies for the delayed post to my friends at Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH), but I wanted to ensure that this write-up was in alignment with your brand (authentic, transparent and trustworthy). 😁 This should go without saying, but for those who have never attended a SoCal Women's Leadership Summit, it is practically impossible to attend this event and leave without being changed in some way. This event restored my faith in humanity and the potential of the future workforce that my daughter will join one day. 👩💻 👩🔬👩⚕️ Future leaders from Loyola Marymount University, University of Southern California, UCLA and many other universities in the area attended to learn from industry titans and thought leaders. One of the key takeaways shared with me was the importance of a Personal Board of Advisors, which is something that I could not agree with more. 🤓 👩🎓 Massive shout out to WiTH's Board: Christina Aguilera, Theresa Miller, Nadya Ichinomiya, April (Cadiente) Schneider, Nancy Baca, Nina Skorus-Neely, Anna Sugai, Shelley Andagan 🎮, Rosemary Ampuero Jacobs, Filiz Bahmanpour, iAsia Brown, Annie Chang, Beate Chelette, Jaclyn Knag, Iseabail Lane, Cybill Miklaszewski, Ana Miren Achaval for making such an inspirational event possible for the past decade!!! 🙇♂️ Special Thanks to Christiane Ohlgart, Amy Pang, Guy Finley, Khatera Baqi, Kate Whitaker, Roberta Matuson, Melody Hildebrandt, Barbara Bickham, Ina Huang, Hollie Choi, Debbie Menin, Terri Davies, Renee Fraser, Ph.D., Lexi Matuson, Alesia Jones, Greg Geier, Eric Iverson, Melanie Hildebrandt and so many others!!! Your generosity with your time and wisdom is truly remarkable. 🙇♂️ Final Note - CaraGarcia.com * apologies that my photos don't hold a candle to yours, but please feel free to add some to this post. - Thanks friend! - Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) reposted this
We are thrilled to announce that TPN President Terri Davies was awarded a 2024 Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) Leadership Award! 🏆 Terri has been a pivotal part of WiTH since the early days, serving as a key advisor to its co-founders and participating in the inaugural panel in July 2014. Her involvement from the beginning, as well as her passionate leadership and commitment to fostering opportunities for women as president of TPN, has had a lasting impact across multiple sectors of the M&E industry. All of the nominees demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and unwavering commitment to advancing women in technology. We extend our sincere congratulations to Terri's fellow winners: Melody Hildebrandt, Fox CTO; April (Cadiente) Schneider, Sony VP; and Carolyn Giardina, Variety. 👏 Pictured: Terri Davies with Theresa Miller, CTO Lionsgate, who presented the award. What an inspiring experience at the @SoCal Women in Technology Hollywood Summit! It was incredible to see so many talented and driven women from leading companies and non-profit organizations come together to share their journeys, discuss strategies for achieving success, and empower others to rise through the ranks. I was honored to contribute to the conversation on expanding neurodiversity in organizations and the critical role employees play in fostering an inclusive culture. Being on stage with three remarkable advocates and champions of workplace diversity made the moment even more special. Grateful to be part of such a powerful and motivating event! Rosemary Ampuero Jacobs, thank you for organizing, Tara May and Rebecca Beam. Many thanks to the board members and contributors Gretchen Libby, April (Cadiente) Schneider, Julie Anne Fogg, Nadya Ichinomiya, Melissa Gasparovic, Christina Aguilera, Guy Finley and many others. Finally catching my breath after an incredibly inspiring day at the SoCal Women's Leadership Summit last Friday. From start to finish, the energy in the room was electric — filled with people from diverse backgrounds, different career stages, and a shared passion for driving change. This experience gave me the opportunity to connect with phenomenal women whose leadership, vision, and resilience continue to motivate and uplift me. Every conversation was a reminder of the incredible strength and talent we have within our community. There were so many powerful moments throughout the day, and I'm deeply grateful to the courageous speakers, as well as the Leadership Award nominees and winners, for sharing their wisdom and stories. I'm proud to be part of Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH) and thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with such inspiring individuals. Together, we’re shaping the future. 💜 Also - I was so in the moment I only took a few photos ... who knows that feeling?
