- Wisconsin Business World , a program of WMC Foundation, hosted its annual Summer Camp at Lakeland University last week! The four-day camp brought high schoolers from across the state to learn about business practices, from entrepreneurship and the free market to etiquette and the importance of soft skills. After being divided into teams, students built a business from the ground up throughout the week, coming up with an innovation, developing finance and marketing plans, building a prototype, and preparing a presentation pitch of their final product. In addition to the competition, students toured local businesses, networked with business leaders, heard from guest speakers, played games, and more!
- SAVE THE DATE: The first-ever statewide Civics Bee finals will be held on June 14th in Madison. Join us as we cheer on some of Wisconsin's brightest middle school students!
- This week, we graduated our third Wisconsin LEADS cohort. The executive fellowship program is a leadership development opportunity for emerging executives to learn from other prominent executives and lawmakers about Wisconsin’s economy and the foundational public policies that shape it. This third cohort participated in three retreats around the state this year, culminating at Lambeau Field this week for discussions on site selection, managing boards of directors, crisis communication, leadership, and more. Thank you to Bill Berrien, Abigail Carlson, Nick Novak, Rick Parks, Coleman Peiffer, AICP, John Wichman, MCR, and Nick Ariens for insightful presentations and conversations!
