Exciting news! Our team won the pitch competition hosted by Rocket Mixer and cohosted by Oracle NetSuite Accelerator yesterday.
Wow, what an evening we had yesterday! The room was buzzing with excitement, opportunities, and fantastic food. We couldn’t have kicked off our Autumn event series in a better way! What an incredible crowd we had! A special thanks goes to our co-hosts, Oracle NetSuite Accelerator and Emily T. Davila for organizing the event with us—it’s been a pleasure to be on this journey together! And of course, no event would be complete without the right venue—this time, we secured a breathtaking space with a stunning view. Huge thanks to Perkins Coie for hosting us at their office. A big thank you to our presenter, Fanny T., for skillfully moderating the pitch competition, and to our panel of VCs—Elena Obukhova, Sherman Williams II, and Justin Kang—for sharing their expertise and insightful feedback with the founders. A huge thank you to our photographer Gabriel Spence for capturing the best moments of the event! We’ll be sharing the link with the photos in the coming days. We also had an open mic session where two companies got to share their stories in 60 seconds. It was a pleasure to be hosted as a speaker, along with fellow Cornellian entrepreneurs and other impressive startups founders including, Groq, Lutra AI (Jiquan Ngiam), Abacus.AI (Bindu Reddy), Eticas AI (Gemma Galdon Clavell, PhD) and Beloved Ecosystem (Chinedu Echeruo) at IMAGINE AI LIVE last Friday. We were honored to be selected as one of the Top 8 Startup Winners to present xPub (Techstars '23) at 1871 during Chicago AI Week. During the week, I met many amazing entrepreneurs, potential customers and investors. One of the conversations that distinctly stuck to me was that with Chris Gladwin from Ocient. Besides having over 250 patents under his belt, he's a stellar entrepreneur who built not only several successful startups but also a strong community in which good performance is appreciated in its true sense with equity benefits and by making sure that all employees get direct benefits with the growth of the startup. When you produce a great percentage of very high earning individuals within an organization, the benefit doesn't just stay within the organization but also translates into the local startup ecosystem as they start to invest in other young startups which go on to create larger impact. As I'm inspired by such a true form of empowerment, I aspire to promote such empowerment through xPub :)
