About us
YouTube is a team-oriented, creative workplace where every single employee has a voice in the choices we make and the features we implement. We work together in small teams to design, develop, and roll out key features and products in very short time frames. Which means something you write today could be seen by millions of viewers tomorrow. And even though we’re a part of Google and enjoy all of the corporate perks, it still feels like you’re working at a startup. YouTube is headquartered in San Bruno, California, 12 miles south of San Francisco. We also have many job openings in Mountain View, and across the globe

- This #HispanicHeritageMonth Alexia Del Valle shares how her Puerto Rican heritage beautifully influences everything she does: "It's important for me to represent my Puerto Rican heritage because it's the foundation of who I am. I want to emphasize the pride I have in my roots and how it influences everything I do, whether it's through humor, storytelling, or just embracing my identity in every part of what I do. It's not just about celebrating where we've come from, but also showing where we're going." Check out her channel here → https://yt.be/tib2N

At Made on YouTube this week, we announced new ways to create, build community, and make a living doing what you love. Here’s how we’re making YouTube the best home for creators: (1) We’re integrating Google DeepMind’s newest generative video model - Veo - into Dream Screen on Shorts. This state-of-the-art technology is only the beginning of how we’re empowering creativity with AI. (2) Communities are a new space for creators to connect with fans on their channels, whether they’re sharing fan art or just starting a conversation with someone new. They’re available now on a handful of channels and we're expanding to more channels in early 2025. (3) We’re launching a new feature that lets fans “hype” videos so they can rally around their favorite emerging creators. The videos with the most hype points will appear on a special leaderboard. (4) We’re also helping creators expand their reach by bringing our automatic dubbing tool to hundreds of thousands more creators so they can generate translated audio tracks for videos in different languages. (5) We’re making it easier than ever to grow your business by introducing Gifts powered by Jewels, expanding our YouTube Shopping affiliate program, and helping you organize your content into seasons and episodes. Today at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Creativity & Tech Summit in Washington D.C., we unveiled our most extensive survey to date into how the global creator economy is using GenAI. A few highlights from this new research from Radius: • 92% of creators surveyed are currently using GenAI tools • 47% of creators surveyed say they use GenAI for editing text, images, audio or video • 29% of creators surveyed say that one of their top three reasons for using GenAI is to save time YouTube's Head of Culture & Trends in EMEA, Roya Zeitoune got the creator perspective from Colin Rosenblum and Samir Chaudry, Hosts of the Colin and Samir Show, about how creators are using GenAI in the creation process and how they can retain authenticity while utilizing GenAI. As GenAI continues to evolve, we’re excited to see how creators can push the boundaries even further. Find the full research report here → yt.be/AIandCreators

Last month, I visited Delhi and enjoyed meeting with creators, artists, advertisers, and industry leaders. There’s so much creativity in India! Sharing a few trends and insights I observed while on the ground there: (1) Indian creators are building successful businesses with Shorts, which now have TRILLIONS of views in the country. Take the creator Biju, for example, whose family shares their day-to-day life via Shorts. At over 55 million subscribers, they’re now the biggest creators in APAC! (2) YouTube’s views on connected TV have more than quadrupled in India in the last 3 years,* and we’re the most watched streaming service on big screens there.** At our event, Brandcast India, creators like Tanmay Bhat and Slayy Point took center-stage and showcased the power of YouTube in the Living Room to advertisers. (3) Bollywood continues to transcend culture. I loved seeing creators’ excitement when Aamir Khan, India’s leading actor and filmmaker, surprised them at our Creator Summit. I’ve been a fan of his work for years, and loved hearing his perspectives on balancing art and business, dealing with failure, and the importance of making a positive impact on society. (4) We’re continuing to partner with policymakers to support India's growing digital economy. I met with several senior officials, including four cabinet ministers from the Indian government—the Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal, Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Culture & Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. We discussed the incredible growth of India’s creator economy and our shared goals of increasing access to learning and opportunities. (5) No matter where you are in the world, creators do it all…they’re coming up with creative ideas to reach a global audience through YouTube. I saw this again and again as I met with over 100 top creators from all over India at our first Creator Summit in the country. One highlight was talking with Kamiya Jani of Curly Tales about our commitment to the creator community, emerging opportunities and trends, and of course, my favorite Indian comfort foods. Head over to Kamiya’s channel to watch our conversation. I also filmed a Short with Sanjyot Keer from Your Food Lab, who started his own food channel and launched a cooking appliance business. He taught me how to prepare Basket Chaat, a popular dish from Lucknow, my family’s hometown. We made a great team, check it out… https://lnkd.in/g-FRyhn3* 2020-2023 ** According to Comscore- +1

- Creator Collectives are an important part of YouTube’s culture. We get that being a Creator can oftentimes feel like you’re on your own, but #YouTubeCreatorCollectives events are a chance to build community and strengthen connections through intimate, inspiring experiences—like this one in Miami. Whether you have 1M or thousands of subscribers, you’ll have the same experience where you're invited to be yourself, find your people, and hopefully make magic together!

- Neal Mohan visits India for the first time as YouTube’s CEO! YouTube CEO Neal Mohan's recent visit was a whirlwind of activity filled with creator meet ups, discussions with prominent leaders and a taste of home (chaat, anyone?) In a candid fireside chat at our first ever Creator Summit hosted in Delhi with Curly Tales' Kamiya Jani, Mohan shared his exciting vision for YouTube's future in India, emphasizing the platform's power to connect creators and viewers. Mohan also handed over a milestone gift for KL Biju Bro, for achieving 50M Subscribers. The Creator Summit, India's premier event for top creators, celebrates our ever-growing creator ecosystem and drives creator growth conversations. This year, it was attended by more than 100 top creators. At #Brandcast, Mohan shared his insights on the platform's incredible growth in India and creators as the driving force behind it. He pointed out that YouTube creators in India are the new A-listers, shaping trends and attracting devoted fans. He also highlighted how YouTube has become the most-watched streaming service on connected TVs, with trillions of Shorts views in India. A personal highlight? Mohan whipping up some nostalgic chaat with Your Food Lab, a delicious nod to his Lucknow roots. 🍛 Can't wait for his next visit! 🇮🇳
