About
Born in New York City, I’ve always had a deep passion for music that manifested itself in unexpected ways. I wasn't interested in playing an instrument or singing at an early age, I was more interested in art and business.
Nevertheless, I was always drawn to music in strange ways: I loved exploring the intersection between different genres, technologies and sounds. I constantly tinkered with stereo systems, mixing and matching tracks to create my own unique playlists and remixes. Of course, it was 1998 so my options were limited.
At the time, I didn't necessarily see music as a career path - or even consider it. I didn't know any successful musicians and there were certainly none in my family. However, in the years to come, I would learn music was something I wanted to pursue in some form or another.
In 2012, I met Drew Taggart, and The Chainsmokers were born.
Years of long days producing in our tiny studio apartment in NYC and playing underground clubs at night to make ends meet, combined with Drew's experience as a producer, eventually proved to be a winning formula.
As The Chainsmokers began to take off, I also became interested in investing and early-stage startups. I took immense pleasure in, and was incredibly inspired by, working with founders who were excited to create disruption with their ambitious ideas.
I saw firsthand how technology was revolutionizing the music industry and realized that I wanted to be a part of that change, not just in music, but across tech, finance, CPG, and more. I knew we had more to offer early-stage companies than what people might assume.
In 2019, I founded the venture firm Mantis VC alongside Drew, Jeffrey Evans, and Milan Koch.
As an entrepreneur who created a music industry enterprise, I knew that bringing that same energy and experience to other founders could lead to huge things. In addition to being a creator at my core, I am a leader, team builder, and growth hacker, and I love using those skills to serve our founder network within my angel and VC portfolio.
As I look to the future, I get extremely excited to continue growing Mantis VC and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators.
