I organized and presented a workshop about Natural Language Processing (NLP) for my colleagues in the PDEng Data Science program. In this workshop, we had a look at different NLP strategies and techniques that can help to extract useful insights from raw text.

𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽:
The nature of this workshop was a mix of theoretical concepts with a focus on hands-on NLP techniques and strategies. Some of the major areas this workshop covered:
• Generalities about human language
• What is NLP?
• How is NLP going to help me?
• We organized the text, now what?
• Latest NLP releases and applications
𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀:
No prior knowledge in NLP was required for attending the workshop.
The examples were explained in Python. However, the focus was on the concepts rather than the tools.

See project NLP algorithm for relevant information detection in the National Rapporteur publication database
May 2019 - Jun 2019
Using NLP and Machine Learning algorithms, we designed a search engine that detects all relevant information in the publication database, and gives a complete and comprehensible overview of relevant paragraphs, graphics and other subject matter in the search results.
The publication database is 100% in Dutch and belongs to the National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children.
