- Paula J. Grace, M.A., ACC, PHR, SHRM-CP, CEC, CODC My HR heart is so happy about this ruling! This conversation has been happening for a long time, and finally we are seeing the law start to catch up to this century and some semblance of reasonability. What's left to be seen, however, is how employers handle the change. Will they raise base wages to meet new minimums and keep people over the minimum salary thresholds to avoid overtime? Or will they let things play out and pay those under the new thresholds OT instead? What do you think? Any day progress is made towards a more fair, just, and equitable workplace is a good day!

Hours: The number of hours paid during the pay period. Pay Rates: If workers received pay at different rates during the pay period (e.g., overtime, work in different classifications, etc.), each rate should be listed, and hours paid at each rate should be broken out. Deductions: The name and amount of each deduction must be listed separately All other compensation, including commissions, bonuses, and tips, must be described and the amount must be listed Paystubs and Pay Statements. Under the Healthy Working Families Act, employers must provide workers with a written statement of their available leave balance. (As under the paystub law, this statement may be written or electronic, such as through an online portal.

This season of gratitude gives us an opportunity to reflect on the culture we’re building and how we’re fostering relationships that inspire trust, collaboration, and growth. - HR professionals: What’s one way you’re helping your team connect on a human level this season? - Business leaders: How are you incorporating gratitude into your workplace culture? Let’s elevate the conversation and ensure our workplaces are spaces where people thrive and not just during the holidays, but every day. #HumanResources #WorkplaceCulture #GratitudeAtWork #Leadership #HolidaySeason
