Projects

2009

Part of a student engineering team (Grozi) sponsored by UC San Diego with the goal of developing a grocery shopping assistant for the visually impaired. Developed a database of grocery shop images which were labeled using technology inspired by “reCAPTCHA”. Began testing on a device which would provide directional assistance through sense of touch to the wrist.

As a final project for a Musculoskeletal Biomechanics class, designed and prototyped a scapular tracker to be used by the Motion Analysis Laboratory for analyzing pitching motion, particularly through scapular kinematics. Implemented the design by attaching retro-reflective markers on the device such that motion could be captured using a system of 12 infrared-sensitive cameras. Data analysis showed that the scapular tracker better captured motion when compared to regular skin-based markers.
