In 2012, I became a chairperson for the Tonic Ball art gallery fundraiser. I recruited local artists to
create work based on the music of U2, The Kinks, and Stevie Wonder; then my team and I sold the work at a local gallery and raised over $6,000 for local non-profit Second Helpings.

Second Helpings is a local organization that I believe is so important to our community. “Harvest” is their largest annual fundraiser, and being a part of making the event successful is really fulfilling. For my part, I craft and manage the social media marketing for the event, which includes interviewing participating restaurants and posting video previews.

It has been my hope to be able to contribute to Relay for Life since the death of my father in 2002 from lung cancer. I found a very meaningful and involved opportunity to contribute by maintaining the website for entire Downtown Indianapolis RFL event for 2011. Duties include maintaining content on the website, writing and scheduling emails to participants, and updating our Facebook and Twitter presence.
