- "The music industry does not have to be a zero-sum game. There's no one-size-fits-all solution for artists, and in my view, there’s room for diverse strategies and players. TRUE support for artists involves educating them about ALL of their options and helping them navigate the landscape." In the latest instalment of our #DigitalDialogue series, Amanda Schupf (Founder of MAX Music) discusses ‘Reframing the Narrative: Major Labels Through a Different Lens’. Amanda asks instead of DIY, can we DIT? (Do It Together) 💡 Read full article here: https://lnkd.in/eppmMHNq"The rise of artist-to-fan platforms and other efforts to elevate independent artists signify positive and necessary shifts in the music business. But the conversation has become one-sided, it overlooks the crucial role major labels can play for some artists, particularly those aiming for stratospheric levels of global success."#MusicIndustry #MajorLabels #DIY #DIT #ArtistAdvice #MusicCreators #MusicEcosystem #CreatorTools

Music industry professionals - if you want to drive more inquiries via your website, you need to make this tweak 👇 Make it clear immediately what it is that you offer - this should be abundantly obvious before you even start scrolling on your homepage. In your top hero banner area, include a striking image, a catchy headline, supporting paragraph text, and a call to action button. This button should lead to the thing you want people to click on the MOST (which is most likely a prompt to contact you). Hi all! 🤗 My name is Nazar, I compose music for games. It's been a while since my team Music We Deserve did remakes of game soundtracks. And now, the moment has come! We were given the task of making a remake of the soundtrack from the game "Neighbors from Hell". Our team made this music for the Neighbor's Bad Summer project. Briefly about the game: Neighbors Bad Summer is a remake of the cult game of the early 2000s: How to get your neighbor / Neighbors from hell. In this game you will play as a YouTuber named Lyokha, film your neighbor as he falls into various traps. The main feature of the new version of the game will be the ability to install cameras to detect the Neighbor. The game will sound fresh with surround sound and updated music! The game will have a complete story that will unfold as you progress, in the form of full-fledged 3D cut scenes. Our remake: https://lnkd.in/eY9-uxWvOriginal: https://lnkd.in/ettrxHA2Write in the comments how we managed to refresh the original soundtrack 🎷🎶#soundtrack #gamemusic #gameaudio #musicproduction #composer #gamedev #gamedevelopment #indiedev #indiedeveloper #gameindustry #gamedeveloper #remake

Day 31 of #100DaysOfAIToday, I had a chance to create music! It isn't easy to figure out where to start. There are so many different things you can compose. I focused on generating a soundtrack for a Role-Playing Game (RPG), specifically a 90's RPG. The link below is the best sound created because it's pretty straightforward. I tried to compose a Lofi Hip Hop song (something I use to study/focus), and it was a no-go. I encourage you to visit CassetteAI and try it yourself. Here's the sound created: https://lnkd.in/gzEMJxZhResource: CassetteAI - https://cassetteai.com/

"Town Music" by Tim Girard This month I worked on updating "Pastoral Theme" because it was originally written in Sibelius, and I always wanted to see what it would sound like if I gave it the DAW treatment. It reminded me of the style of music you might hear when playing a video game and visiting a town, so I changed the name to "Town Music". Before taking it out of Sibelius I rewrote the end of each phrase and changed the bass rhythms, because when I originally did it as an assignment, it was good enough and I was trying to learn how to write things quickly and move on from them. I think the rewrite is a little more interesting and flows a little better, so I'm glad I made the changes. I also thought this would be a good opportunity to compare my different string libraries. The music is meant to repeat (like video game music would), but instead of an exact repeat, I switched to a different string library, using five of them, one right after the other. I fiddled with them as little as possible, to see which ones sounded best right out of the box, so I would know which ones to use if I'm under a tight deadline. I used the same modulation and expression on all of them, mostly just to create the overall subtle dynamic contour. I also didn't do any panning, because I wanted to just rely on each of their seating positions when they were originally recorded. I had to do some balancing, because the ranges of their default volumes were all over the place, and for the most part I used the same reverbs (as well as a few other effects) on all of them, with a few slight adjustments when necessary. On one of them I also had to do some pretty drastic surgical EQ because a few notes had some crazy overtones piercing through. Which one(s) do you like most/least (A, B, C, D, or E)?TheTimGirard.com #BerkleeOnline #composition #FilmMusic #FilmScoring #GameAudio #soundtrack #TelevisionScoring #TimGirard #VideoGameMusic

- The music industry is beginning to embrace royalties from music and software patents as an alternative asset class, and investors are looking for dynamic investment strategies to maximize revenue from music. Reviving old brands, producing documentaries, video games, Broadway shows, and selling branded goods are some of the ways to increase revenue from music. The success of music royalties as an asset class depends on having a strategy to market and increase value, and investing in names, likeness, image, and life rights. The industry is in its early stage, and there are opportunities for investors in this field. Some time ago, I shared some thoughts on how I develop a music concept in the early stages of a new project, having just gone through this process for 'Halve' by Moonleaf studio, MB. In the latest upload of my 'Composer Devlog' series, I give a brief overview of how this process has resulted for the music in first chapter in the game! In the video, I move from inspiration to the first in-game music, taking you through all the steps that come in between. I hope you enjoy #gamedev #gamedevelopment

THE MUSIC BUSINESS & THE REVOLVING DOOR OF ACTS FADING OUT. I’ve been in the music business over 8 years now and I’ve lost count of the amount of acts I’ve seen come & go. The recurring theme appears to be: • not evolving and being one step ahead for the sound that’s coming next (a lot of the scene is cyclical unless you’re a pioneer in your respective field) • not developing and connecting with fanbases • peaking too soon with fees and not being able to maintain it. There are very few acts who can dominate multiple territories with big fees and hard tickets across the board and be able to maintain it. You might be able to do 5,000 tickets in one city and only 500 tickets in another. Good management and good agents who focus on longevity, strategy and clever plays will be able to identify where you are most popular and capitalise on this, and look to strengthen weaker areas organically. You only need a few bad results in this game for the fortunes to change for the worse. Long term thinking over short term financial gain. #musicindustry #electronicmusic #artistmanagement #artistmanager
