Andrew Lund’s Post
I'm grateful to mark 1 year working with the amazing people at Street Smart. This is an entire organization full of people who understand the inherent dignity of competence and hard work. Special thanks to: - Jeremy Peterson for his leadership and guidance with this new role. - Brady Markell and Dave Knutson for the years they spent building the Street Smart | Security Camera Trailers business before I had even heard of Street Smart, and for bringing me up to speed when I joined. - Michael Price, Sean Koch, Matt Rivard, Adam Buhr, and Connor Winkels for answering countless "How do we do ____?" questions. - Bob Turnquist and Marty Lauer for supplier relations leadership. - Natalie Ellingboe for her patience with my unsolicited marketing ideas. And especially the folks in our shops. You know who you are and you know what you do--thank you. Looking forward to the next year of growth with sales leadership from Jeff Meier and execution from Nicholas Pezzera and Kipp Kelton.
So glad to have you on our team, Andrew. Keep up the great work.

UK Head of Channel Alliance

What motivated you to pursue a career as a channel head? ✏️ As I reflect on my 5 year anniversary at Kubrick Group it is a good time to take stock of what motivated me to pivot careers: 📌 Communication - being able to connect and "join the dots" with all parts of the business, from senior stakeholders to new joiners, is an integral part of working in the Channel. I embrace the variety, not to mention challenges that each day brings. 📌 Enthusiasm - my glass is always half full....and if this happens to contain some rose after a long day even better 😁 📌 Get Stuff Done - never to be underestimated when working in the Channel, being able to "get sh1t done" is essential, not just in Partnerships, but in work in general. Sometimes my sleeves are permanently rolled up! 📌 Never Stop Learning - the opportunity to move into a new direction was too good to pass up. Data is the future and I am glad to be on the journey! The channel is a constant source of learning and development that I embrace. Thanks to Tim Smeaton, Simon Walker & Oliver Allnutt for seeing something in me and giving me that opportunity to initially pivot, Jay Lockwood for bringing me into the channel, and Nick Allen for your guidance & leadership. Here's to the next 5 years #5years #kubrick #partnerships #partnershipsmatter #channel #channelalliance

🎉 Celebrating my 24th birthday this week! Until recently age was something I avoided discussing, afraid that it would downplay my years of experience but after joining the corporate world days after turning 16, I'm also celebrating 8 years in corporate retail. Since joining the team at Quadmark I have come to appreciate the insight and experience I have gained by starting when I did and wanted to share some of my biggest lessons so far: Diverse Mentors: Valuable lessons often come from unexpected sources. Embracing diverse perspectives teaches you the best lessons. Seek out unexpected mentors—they may provide insights that shape your journey. Embrace Challenges: Growth in my career has often stemmed from daunting challenges. Each obstacle is a chance for personal and professional development. Say yes to scary things. Learning to Learn: Balancing work and study early in my career taught me a crucial lesson: education isn't just about subjects (looking at my IT degree); it's mastering the art of learning, it gives you the confidence when presented with a new challenge that you can tackle it. #CareerJourney #BirthdayReflections #ProfessionalGrowth

Today marks my third year anniversary with Turn 14 Distribution, Inc.! Reflecting on the past three years, It's hard to believe how fast the time has gone; most days I walk in feeling like I just started yesterday. When I first came here, I thought I knew a lot more about - well, everything - than I actually did. In looking back at all the things I've learned and accomplished, I can only attribute these successes to the support from all of the lovely people here (not just in the HR department) and the culture that Turn 14 Distribution has built. Usually in interviews, I describe this as a 'learning' environment; a culture defined not by shaming mistakes, but by using them as opportunities to improve and reach higher. It's also an environment that takes the time to do and build things the right way, not frivolously jumping into things to say we do them. Ultimately though, it's the entrepreneurial spirit that makes this such a special place to be. From entry-level to senior leadership, it's a culture of innovators looking to build the best experience/product/process that they can so every team and business partner can benefit. Here's looking forward to the next few years!

It’s Friday! Let’s Celebrate! We all know certain aspects of work/running a business can be stressful, but let’s lighten things up today! Wins can be anything from starting a new job, celebrating an employment milestone or pay raise, meeting financial/sales goals, hiring a new employee, finishing a successful presentation, or accomplishing a large project. Both for business-owners and employees alike, acknowledging these wins is extremely beneficial to the atmosphere of a company. Tell us—what's your go-to way to celebrate these victories? A: Treat yourself to a nice lunch B: Invest in a new gadget for yourself or your office C: High-five your team (or yourself!) D: Something else? Tell me in the comments!

Each trip is fueled by my own goals, my own vision, and my own intentionality. I was 19 years old when I took my first business trip to Frankfurt, Germany, as the Associate Department Lead at Fortunoff for Villeroy & Boch. It was a whirlwind, and I felt both terrified and exhilarated. Fast forward to a few years later, I found myself jet-setting across the globe, from Europe to Asia, as a Product Development Manager for Bed Bath and Beyond. Back then, I thought I had it all figured out. But life had other plans. This week marks 4 years since I was laid off from that corporate life. If you had told me then that I'd be traveling for business, but this time for my own business, I would have laughed it off. But here I am, stacking up the miles once again. I know you've been and are watching and it’s easy to think this journey has been seamless, but here are three things that most often get wrong about my story: One, this didn’t happen overnight. Building something for yourself takes time, and there were moments of doubt, fear, and even failure. Two, it hasn't just been about working hard. It has been about working intentionally. Every move I’ve made in the past four years has been driven by a clear purpose. Three, the freedom to travel and work on my terms didn’t just land in my lap. It came from leveraging the power of personal branding and the internet, crafting a presence that resonates and connects with the right people. This isn’t just about stacking miles; it’s about stacking the right opportunities. In today’s world, we have the tools at our fingertips to create our own paths. Your personal brand is powerful, and when used with intention, it can take you places you never imagined. So, as I stand here at the gate, waiting for yet another flight, I’m reminded that this journey is one I’m designing myself...and it’s just the beginning. If you're ready to start building a brand that opens doors and takes you to new heights, let's connect. Your next business trip could be for the vision you create. Let's make it happen. #bedbathandbeyond #fortunoff #productdevelopment #corporatelife #layoff #worklifefit #personalgrowth #professionalgrowth

🚀 End of an Era, Beginning of a New Journey 🚀 Today marks the close of a remarkable chapter in my career. After 7 incredible years at Shawbrook, I'm excited to embrace a new opportunity that lies ahead. During my interview at Shawbrook, I asked, "What is the best thing about Shawbrook?" The answer was simple: the people. Seven years later, this still holds true. The integrity, commitment to doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and the never-ending drive to tackle challenges define this amazing team. I am grateful to have worked with some of the most brilliant Product experts (Olivia Waite, Jordan Sanderson, Louise Bird, Adriano Araldi, Bronagh Kelly, Chang Eddie Liu, Arthur Leung, Lea-Jane Baird), talented Designers (Nicola Fleming, Rob Evans, Craig McPheat, Scott Burns, Emily Shone, Nimra Chaudry), and those deeply committed to customer outcomes like Colin Smith and Jason Kentish. The generosity and support from my colleagues has been unparalleled (Andy Townsend, Paul Went, Sue Saville, Lee Shaw, David Sneddon, James Longstaff, Stuart Doignie, Philippa Pykett, Russ Thornton, Joanne Edwards, Amrita Kohli) Here are some of our incredible achievements during my time at Shawbrook: 📈 Loan book growth: 350% 💼 Deposit book growth: 375% 📊 We rolled out awesome CSAT and analysis tools 💡 Established top-tier product and design teams 👥 Tons of support groups; including my New Parents group, which continues to thrive 🖥️ Remarkable advancements in our technology ✅ Delivering great consumer duty outcomes every day 🏃 Moved from waterfall to fully functioning Agile 🌐 Nailing hybrid work setup – I remember the days when booking a phone line for a conference call was the norm! The thing I loved (and continuously love) the most is how we empowered growth by truly understanding and enhancing our customers' experiences. Feel free to connect; I'd love to chat if this drives you too. In the immortal words of Vinnie Jones, "It's been emotional." Thank you, Shawbrook, for an unforgettable journey. Here's to new beginnings! 🚀#NewBeginnings #Gratitude #Teamwork #Innovation #CustomerExperience #CareerJourney #CustomerSatisfaction #Technology #Data #Collaboration #Goals #Product #Design

There aren’t many leaders that I respect more than Best Buy’s Senior Executive Vice President, Kamy Scarlett. She’s brilliant, fun, warm, supportive, and has a way to cut through BS without having to wear a rebellious Sons of Anarchy leather vest to do it. She leads with her authentic personality and embraces and celebrates the individual personalities of her team. Kamy knows that being a front-line associate in a retail environment is a tough gig with long hours, disrespectful customers, and tons of direction from head office. Beyond product knowledge, they have to know specials, offers, and have a photographic memory of the binder that outlines the 5000 guidelines that dictate everything from how to bag a box to 60-day return policies. Kamy’s plan was simple. She simply went to her frontline staff and told them to forget all of that. There was only one direction they needed to understand and to put into practice: “Be Amazing”. That’s it. Be amazing. Kamy hired her people based on beliefs and values and expected them to be amazing at their jobs but she tossed away the script and let them deliver “AMAZING” in their own authentic way. It’s simpler, it’s easier to commit to memory, and it’s way more fulfilling which creates a much better experience for the customers AND the staff. When you inspire your people to be amazing, they will be.
