It's all about serving the students. We work together with students, who help us understand how higher education needs to evolve to serve them better. We pilot their solutions and scale those that make the impact we all seek. Asking students how to improve higher education is a surprisingly radical approach to their success. #REP4 #highereducation #studentcentered #studentsuccess

I was struck by a profound realization—the immense power and influence of role models who reflected my own heritage and experiences. They spoke like me, shared my struggles, and had risen to heights that once seemed unreachable. In their presence, the once distant dream of becoming 'Doctor' morphed into a tangible, achievable reality. This transformation in my own perception highlights a significant gap in many educational settings: the lack of diverse role models. Research strongly supports the importance of students of color, Black students particularly, having role models who look like them, especially in educational settings. When students can't see themselves in their leaders, their scope of what's possible narrows. School leaders, what is one way you cultivate an environment where every student and teacher sees a clear pathway to their fullest potential within your school community? 🎯Get more insights in our complimentary 'Inclusivity' Checklist. 🔗https://bit.ly/42q2UD8

In reflecting on the distribution of certain awards and titles, it's important to recognize that not all honors are solely based on merit. Often, the decision-making process can be influenced by various factors, including political considerations and behind-the-scenes discussions. This observation is not intended to diminish the accomplishments of any recipient but rather to acknowledge the complex dynamics at play. Understanding these nuances can help us strive for greater transparency and equity in recognizing excellence across all fields.
