The Executive Leadership Council (ELC)'s African American Directors Forum (AADF) is an innovative initiative to promote more Black executives onto the Boards and into the C-Suites of public companies. Recently, UPS joined forces with the Metro Atlanta Chamber, the Atlanta Committee for Progress, and the Atlanta Mayor’s office to host AADF in Atlanta. I had the pleasure of addressing a gathering of Atlanta CEOs, board chairs and talented African American board-ready and board-proven candidates. I then joined Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and ELC CEO Skip Spriggs for a discussion about the importance of diversity in both business and government. When companies are intentional about diversifying their boardrooms, they don’t just change their businesses for the better. They change business as usual — for the better.
