FEASTSโ€™ Post

๐Ÿš€ Today we are featuring another valued FEASTS partner. ๐Ÿ”ฆ The spotlight shines on the Technical University of Munich (TUM), centrally involved in the project. TUM's mission is aimed at pioneering food technology innovations. This engagement is directed towards addressing the global challenges of #foodsecurity, #nutrition, and the environmental #sustainability of food systems. By leveraging its interdisciplinary expertise and technological advancements, TUM School of Life Sciences is dedicated to developing sustainable, efficient solutions that significantly contribute to the resilience of future #foodsystems. ๐Ÿ”ŽIn the FEASTS project, TUM focuses on "Process and Infrastructure Engineering Towards Circularity and Minimal Waste." The aim is to revolutionize cell-based food production by developing an industrialized bioprocess to optimize every stage of #cultured meat production, ensuring minimal waste and maximal resource efficiency. This involves designing and simulating process diagrams, constructing detailed mathematical models for scenario analysis, and devising strategic action plans aimed at enhancing sustainability and reducing costs through circularity practices. ๐ŸŽฏ With the goal of establishing a blueprint for sustainable process design in cell-based food production, the Professorship of Cellular Agriculture of TUM headed by Marius Henkel plays an integral role in advancing FEASTS's overarching objective of achieving circularity and sustainability in cultured meat and seafood technology.
