Not fun - but after a freelancer I hired spent several hours on a task that should've taken 15 minutes (I provided step by step SOP), I trained a browser agent to do the task for me. It worked flawlessly. This is the future for better or for worse.
"This is the future for better or for worse" And yet you still decided to use it. Make it make sense.

A while back I saw a post from someone who wanted a freelancer to make some design updates to their website. Before writing to him, I made some minor improvements to the site in DevTools and then included a screenshot and my reasoning behind the changes in the message. It took me like 5 minutes. Turns out, he really loved my proactive approach - and the fact that I could demonstrate some piece of value in such a short amount of time made me stand out from the 10+ other people who had contacted him for the gig. Of course you can't always apply this exact strategy. But especially in today's job market, you gotta do whatever you can to get the job: → Be proactive → Show your skills → Establish connection I guarantee it'll be a lot easier to stand out from the crowd if you can impress the receiver on your first point of contact ✌

You are doing your best. Don’t let anyone with 10years of experience in a specialized field make you feel less of yourself and your efforts! Just because they throw about their earnings and experience doesn’t invalidate your current status. Talamabout you are working for peanuts. 🙄It took years for them to get to where they are, so trust your own process. Some things are taught, and some things are learned through experience. I can teach you everything I have learned in five years, but you can’t have my five years worth of experience and make decisions like I will because you do not have 5years of experience. So what if you made only $200 this month? You will grow into better earnings, and that’s on time and consistency! As a new freelancer. Seive what you read on here and how you assimilate all sorts. Stay brave champ!

When you ask a freelancer for their rates and they give you a number, here are three appropriate answers: - Cool, that works. - That’s out of budget for us, here’s what we can offer instead. - You are awesome, we really want to work with you and will pay you double that amount. 😎 (No, that last one never happened to me. But it could! (It won’t, I know.)) Here’s what not to say: - *nothing* - You are too expensive. - We will continue with our process of five interviews and a test project and tell you our budget afterwards. ⏳🐌 ----------------------------------------- I’m a freelance software engineer, and I like building things on the Internet. 👩💻 Join me as I try to find a calm approach to working in tech. ✨

“But, Teodora, if you are a freelancer desperately looking for work, you will do most of what a client asks.” ‼️ Spoiler alert: they’re not really your clients, and chances are, they never will be. You’re only losing precious time. Legitimate clients and potential collaborators understand the value of your skills. They’re not out here trying to get a free sneak peek. Potential clients worthy of your time check out your portfolio, read your reviews, and evaluate your past work. They respect your expertise, and they’re willing to pay for it. On the other hand, people asking for free tests will take your hard work, throw some poisonous feedback your way designed to make you question your abilities, and then disappear into the shadows, leaving you with Imposter Syndrome and an empty wallet. Some will even use your work without giving you credit, so you won’t even get “exposure.” Don’t let the promise of a potential “client” blind you to the red flags waving right in front of your face.https://lnkd.in/gSyDQstc
