- 🎉 Celebrating 4,000 members! The CAI now spans five continents and multiple industries — including creators, media organizations, technology companies, camera and smartphone manufacturers, educators, NGOs, and many others. Together, we’re shaping a more transparent, trustworthy internet. Our work is focused on accelerating awareness and the global adoption of the C2PA’s Content Credentials, digital “nutrition labels” that allow us to reliably understand the origins of what we encounter online and whether AI was involved. "Reflecting on our membership milestone, the CAI and C2PA represent more than technical standards or industry alliances," writes Santiago Lyon, Head of Advocacy and Education for the CAI. "They signify a cultural shift toward accountability and trust in digital content." 🟡 Read https://lnkd.in/ephaSagP🟡 Join us https://lnkd.in/gXkGtZ3s

🟡 As AI technology rapidly advances, the need for regulatory guidance is growing worldwide. In the U.S., President Biden’s 2023 executive order on AI safety laid groundwork, encouraging innovation while addressing risks like misinformation, bias, and security issues. “At the same time, many states have grown impatient with the lack of meaningful federal legislation to protect consumers and institutions from the many harms that have already emerged,” writes Hany Farid, Professor at University of California, Berkeley and CAI Advisor. Read his analysis breaking down a range of regulations including AI bills in California that may help set the stage for a unified response to AI technology opportunities and risks. Every year, for over two decades, TIME editors have showcased the most impactful new products and ideas in the TIME Best Inventions issue. We’re thrilled to help celebrate the inclusion of Content Credentials as a Best Invention of 2024! The technical standard developed by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) provides a universal experience for certifying the source or origins of different types of media. We’ve seen tremendous adoption of Content Credentials this year by leading companies including Google, Leica, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Nikon, TikTok, and many others, as we partner to combat the threat of mis- and disinformation online, ensure creators get attribution for their work, and restore trust in our information ecosystem. We’re proud to celebrate this moment for a growing ecosystem and a year of adoption momentum for Content Credentials. 💫 https://lnkd.in/eQENTeMM🟡 Explore the CAI’s free open-source tools enabling implementers to create, verify, and display Content Credentials based on C2PA standards https://lnkd.in/eFXcyZPs🟡 Join us https://lnkd.in/gXkGtZ3s #TIMEBestInventions #contentcredentials #c2pa #contentauthenticity
