We are happy to announce Restoration Colorist, Matt McFarland has joined the talented #NBCUStudioPost restoration team! Matt began his #Colorist career in 1999 as a VFX color timer at POP FIlm and later at Riot Pictures, where he also managed the film scanning and recording department. In 2005, Matt opened his own digital intermediate company, Cranium Filmworks, which focused on DI’s for indie films. In 2009, he joined Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging as a DI colorist. It was there that Matt began working with Warner archives to remaster their library which consisted of Warner Bros. Entertainment, MGM, and RKO titles to name a few. In 2018, Matt worked at Paramount to remaster their library specifically for DolbyVision HDR where he transferred hundreds of Paramount and DreamWorks titles. Prior to being a colorist, Matt was an indie #cinematographer in the Phoenix area where he shot five feature films and countless short films. He graduated from Arizona State where he studied screenwriting and literature. Matt is a native of Omaha, Nebraska and continues to love Cornhusker football to this day.
