Films I've seen on celluloid in the digital era (440 movies items)

"FORMAT: 70mm CONDITION: ★★★★ NOTES: 2012 8K restoration, but one wouldn’t tell until the end credits. Looks absolutely spectacular despite the signs of wear and scratches, the picture is so sharp and the colours so vivid you could swear you were a part of the film. Presented with an overture and intermission. DATE: August 3rd 2024 CINEMA: The Prince Charles Cinema LOCATION: West End"

Year By Year Of My Favorite Flix (103 movies items)

" There are only two words that can properly describe this film.Sweeping epic. Even if you have never seen this movie, the reputation that proceeds it is so sweeping, that, as soon as anyone hears the words "Lawrence of Arabia", they instantly know that this is probably the one movie that exists in all of filmdom that can completely epitomize the definition of that term. In basic terms, it is the sweeping epic of all sweeping epics. And when one takes into account the amount of sand fea"

Quite simply movie-making on the grandest scale

“At 17, I love David Lean, his films are filled with beautiful images and he also directs with real flair. Lawrence of Arabia is a perfect example of movie-making at its finest, the whole film is absolutely phenomenal in every aspect:Whether it is the film's visual style. Lawrence of Arabia is filled with absolutely beautiful images, such as the mirage that introduced us to Omar Sharif. I don't think this could be possible without the astounding cinematography, or the stunning, picturesque Morrocan, Saudi Arabian, Spanish and English locations. The shots of the desert were visually jaw dropping and the battle scenes are unforgettable. But that is the thing with Lean, all of the films I have seen of his are visually stunning, Passage to India, Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, Brief Encounte” read more
