Music:the fray - you found me God this is such bullshit. It is complete and utter crap that I have to be afraid to sleep in my own bedroom because some nightmare rodent from hell might drop out of the ceiling into my bed. I've slept the last two nights on the TV room sofa (which by the way is stuffy, cramped, and smelly) because I can't bear to be up in the loft since having a bat fall ONTO MY HEAD. Yes, I mean that literally. It fell onto the back of my head while I was laying in bed reading, and then flopped around on my sheets for a few before flying around the room.And it pisses me off that nobody else seems to be concerned about it. Rachel hides in her room when they start flying around. I know Matt's sick of being forced to keep catching them. And Michael said he was going to get some foam stuff to seal up the openings in the paneling, but he hasn't done it. i would do it myself except 1. i had to put gas in the Jeep and I'm out of money now and 2. I don't know what the stuff is that he's talking about, or where to get it. And he's certainly in no damn hurry to get the bats out of here at all, which seems ridiculous. I understand that he loves animals, and he thinks the bats are cool, and doesn't want to call an exterminator. Fine, build some bat houses and seal off the chimney so they find a new place to live! It seems a lot more cruel leaving them to their own devices to crawl into the insulation and get stuck in the walls to starve, so when they finally crawl out into my bedroom to freak me the fuck out, they're emaciated and can barely fly. The first time it happened, it was a bit of a lark. The second time, a minor annoyance. Now, it's just about every other day, and sometimes multiple times in a single night.I don't want a bat, which could be flea or disease-ridden, biting me or my cat. And I didn't used to be scared of them. I liked them to a certain extent, but now I have to hear them making sonic squeaks and scrabbling behind the walls all day and night, or waking up in the middle of the night to hear the sound of wings 2 feet from my head, and I can't even sleep in my own bed now. And it pisses me the hell off.I would move out tomorrow if I had anywhere to go or any money to do it with... but I've got nothing except a shitload of frustration and 4 cats stalking what may or may not be another bat in my bedroom.Fuck my life.Tags:hellfire and damnationLocation:gowen, michiganMood:angry
Today I hung out with Tob, whom I've known for nearly 11 years now. He's ridiculously tall, and quite good looking, with short dark hair and a goatee. When I first knew him, though, his hair was soooo long. Longer than yours, 
0ddness . Very sad. I miss his hair. He's smart and funny, a shameless flirt, and one of the kindest, most generous people I know. But I digress. We met up on Plainfield and left my Jeep in the parking lot of his local hangout, 'The Hideaway', and took his car. We started going out to Holland, but changed our minds and went up to Grand Haven instead, in search of a deserted stretch of beach in which to go kite surfing. To make a long story short, we couldn't find a beach empty enough, and ended up just walking on the beach and going swimming instead. After, we changed out of our wet swim gear and went into the city to his favorite kite shop/toy store and poked around in there for a while. We played with the toys, he found a few to purchase, and we examined the latest in kite surfing gear. Then we went out to another of his favorite breweries, so he could pick up some bloody mary mix that is absolutely to die for. THEN we went back to The Hideaway to meet with his friends Jeff and Susan, chatted with them for a few, and went out to dinner at Cheer's on Plainfield. GREAT place. Absolutely loved it. The waitstaff was awesome (probably because he knew them all....but then again, he knows EVERYBODY) and his ex-girlfriend gave me the stink-eye as she was passing by with someone's food. It made me laugh. I had the Michigan Cherry burger, which had dried tart cherries, carmelized onions and bleu cheese on it... it was SO stupidly good. I was blissing out the entire time I was eating it. After, we went back to pick up my Jeep and parted ways. We're getting together tomorrow to take the boat out on one of the local lakes and have an ax-catching contest. It's an inside joke. "They decided to have an ax-catching contest...On a longboat...In the middle of the north sea."So after I left GR, I drove back home feeling all blissed out and happy, with the warmth of the sun still soaked into my skin, and the inner warmth of good food and good company and fresh air, and rocked out to Led Zeppelin. Once I got to Greenville, I decided to stop at the grocery store. I'm starting a diet as part of a training program for a triathlon (more about that later), and needed some rice milk for my shakes. I also ended up buying regular milk for M&R, celery, carrots, lettuce, radishes, lemonade concentrate, string cheese, and a blond summer ale with notes of strawberry. :P Give me a break, it's 4th of July weekend.I had just finished my shopping and was putting the bags in the car when I got a text from Rachel saying she and Matt were at Meijer. I texted back saying that was funny, so was I. So I went back in the store, met up with them near the bottle return and pestered them while they did some shopping. I left a bit before they were done, since I wasn't really helping all that much, just keeping company.It's one of the best days I've had in a very long time. Are you a fan or a critical bystander? What's funny about this question is that it basically says there are exactly two types of people: people who are fans, and people who criticize it without seeing it. What about the people who gave it a shot and just don't like it? Aren't they invited to the party? Or is it just assumed that if you've read the books, you're a fan?Twilight is conflicting to me. I like it, because it's a good escape story. It's mind candy. It doesn't require any thinking, it just IS. I love the vampires and their backgrounds, and I give Stephanie Meyers kudos on creating some great original characters. However, I DESPISE Bella, I hate her point of view, I think she's pathetic and whiny and weak. I don't understand the attraction to werewolf fiction as a genre, and Jacob in particular is a jerk. I can't stand all the fandom chicks who shriek and squeal and think that there's actually an Edward out there that's going to come and sweep them off their feet, and I can't stand the people that dissect it bit by bit and find things to bitch about.
