Movie update

I do not see myself doing a list of top movies of 2021
Tom and Jerry was pretty good Black Widow and Free Guy finally came out
I also got to see In the Heights
Spiderman No Way Home is coming for Christmas Plans are to carch an opening weekend IMAX screening here and a second show with Debby in Westwego (Premium format most likely IMAX first choice)
Turned into Dolby Cinema VERY FIRST SHOW IMAX with Debby

INO the best movie since the opandemic started remains Valley Girl 2020
12/18 untill now Spiderman has that slot

12/20 Liorice pizza is a possibility aftert I return home or wait till video for that one Other then that the new Scream,Avatar 2,and Acroos the Spiderbverse and that is it

12/25 leaning toeards waiting for video for Pizza A thirs sreening of Spiderman is not out of the question 11/19/22 Scream 5 was on digital a week after release plan on Avatar 2 and Spiderverse got put off

Just because

Ask the 25-year-old who tried to electrocute himself. He lived. But both his arms are gone.
What about jumping? Ask John. He used to be intelligent, with an engaging sense of humor. That was before he leapt from a building. Now, he's brain-damaged and will always need care. He staggers and has seizures. He lives in a fog. But, worst of all, he KNOWS he used to be normal.

What about pills? Ask the 12-year-old with extensive liver damage from an overdose. Have you ever seen anyone die of liver damage? You turn yellow. It's a hard way to go.

What about a gun? Ask the 24-year-old who shot himself in the head. Now he drags one leg, has a useless arm and has no vision or hearing on one side. He lived through his "foolproof" suicide. You might too.

But... Who will clean your blood off the carpet or scrape your brains from the ceiling? Commercial cleaning companies may refuse that job--but SOMEONE has to do it.

Who will have to cut you down from where you hung yourself or identify your bloated body after you've drowned? Your father? Your mother? Your wife? Your son?

The carefully worded "loving" suicide note is of no help. Those who loved you will NEVER completely recover. They'll feel regret and an unending pain.

Suicide is contagious. Look around your family. Look closely at the 4 year old playing with his cars on the rug. Kill yourself tonight, and he may do it ten years from now.

You DO have other choices. There are people who can help you through this crisis. Call a hotline. Call a friend. Call your minister or priest. Call a doctor or hospital. Call the police. They will tell you that there's hope. Maybe you'll find it in the mail tomorrow. Or in a phone call this weekend. But what you're seeking could be just a minute, a month, or a day away.

You say you don't want to be stopped? Still want to do it? -Well, then, I may see you in the psychiatric ward later. And we'll work with whatever you have left.

Remember: Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Double features

I liked double features
This is generally seeing two different movies in the theatre on the same day
It has happened a number of times over the years
The last one was for Guardians of the Galazy 1/2 in 2017
THe last unrelated feature (Two different moves) was Mistress America and Diary of a teenage girl both arthouse films I saw at Coolidge Cornert on August 23rd,2015
Thankls to the coronavirus it is concievable I may not see a mobier in a theatre for some time if ever

Stop & Shop to leave Methuen next week, earlier than planned

METHUEN — Stop & Shop at The Loop will permanently close Feb. 29, not the end of July as grocery store officials announced last year.

A statement from Stop & Shop on Wednesday explained the decision to close the store earlier than intended was "due to a variety of factors, including financial performance."

The company offered all 19 full-time and 73 part-time employees opportunities to transfer to other area Stop & Shop locations, according to the company statement. The closest location is in Andover, at 209 N. Main St.

In October 2019, Stop & Shop announced "the difficult decision" not to renew the lease at The Loop — which expires July 31 — following "unmet financial expectations." They said at the time that it would be "business as usual" until July 31.

A sign that appeared in the store in recent weeks alerted customers of the new closing date.

Mayor Neil Perry has been vocal since his inauguration last month about promoting a Trader Joe's or Wegmans grocery store in the soon-to-be vacant space. He told residents to get involved, reach out to companies they would like to see join the community and spread a simple message — "Methuen is open for business."

According to Economic and Community Development Director Bill Buckley, no business has officially signed on to fill the space yet.

He would not name businesses that have expressed interest, but hinted "there are some exciting options that Loop management is exploring."

"What Stop & Shop does by leaving early is expedite the opportunity for a new tenant to see the space, envision the space and maybe move in earlier than planned," Buckley said.

We have known this since January 10th.

For the past few months this LJ has been private.
I generally intend to keep it that way,
I have chatted with a few folks over the years meeting one in person and came close to meeting two others.
I am going through a rough time in my life.
The last two times were in 2010 and 2004-5
The 2010 event I was able to fix on my own. This time I will need some help and I am getting it.

Right now I am leaning towards taking this journal private.(which I did, public posts are still public) -I have scrapped my bio and interests and am down to just one icon

Thank you for reading over the years.

As for Jennifer,I probobly should had at least tried to have that conversation with her about stuff. The last Sunday before going to Joylen's would had been a good time.
To be honest I'm sort of glad I didn't.

Personally I should had not taken her to see Frozen,but had i gone to the mall on the 7th,I wouldn't had gone on the 21st and wouldn't had gotten my iphone upgrade.

UPSIDE DOWN Saw at Kendall and have Blu Ray

SPRING BREAKERS Had considered going to Boston to see, perhaps as a double feature with ON THE ROAD (which I saw on PPV) Ended up catching locally on opening day Have digital copt from Itunes and MOST LIKELY will get full Blu Ray (did)

OZ the Great and Powerful 2.5D Saw TWICE once in 2D and a second viewing in full 3D Got this on Blu Ray

IRON MAN 3 Just one screening but in FULL IMAX 3D Had considered a second showing

Saw this meme going around, so I'm answering the questions provided by millionbubbles. I think the deal is if you reply to this I will give you seven things to talk about.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Favorite Deep Space nine episodes : episodes featuring Quark / Odo confrontations (they are friends but were never able to admit it to each other), Garak episodes, Klingon episodes, Ferengi episodes, the alternate universe, Section 31, and the multi part threads in the 6th and 7th seasons
Overall favorite single episode : "Past Tense" with "Trials and Tribblations" a close second.
Many critics seem to like Far Beyond the Stars and The Visitor.
I do not dislike any DS9 episode. WHY COULD I,IT'S DS9!
Favorite Star Trek : The Next Generation episode: Yesterday's Enterprise.
Least Favorite TNG episode : Masks or Genesis
Favorite Classic Star Trek episode: A cross between Mirror Mirror, Trouble with Tribbles and the Cage
Favorite Enterprise episode "In a Mirror,Darkly!"
Yes I have EVERYTHING Star Trek related on DVD ( especially Deep Space Nine (Duh!) except Star Trek Voyager (will not get),except the last movie (THAT I have on Blu Ray!)

I work part time at a supermarket. My finances are at a point where i only need part time. Over the years I mainly pushed carts but lately they have had me cleaning the store. I am hoping to try out a different department.

Right of center but not an extremist. Have voted in EVERY election since I turned 18. Mitt is my choice in 2012. I have seen him in person once at a community town hall and was able to ask him a question.

My post of 23rd Feb, 2012 at 11:15 PM basically sums it up. Anna and Joylen are friends. I would like to have as close a friendship with Anna as I do with Joylen. Joan has some potential and considers me her best friend, but she can be moody at times and she smokes. I do hang with Janet from time to time. There is potential with Maria but I am leaning against pursuing that lady.
I see sex with Joan in the near future.

I have a LARGE library of movies. I have over 500 on DVD close to 180 on BLU RAY another 40 or so on my DVR most in HD!
I tend to like comedies (especially romantic and the occasional sex comedy) and science fiction.

I MAY see Young Adult in a theater tomorrow. I did not on Saturday but did on Sunday

Windows 8 in a separate partition

Web browser - Firefox 8.0 Do have IE9 as well.

Home start page: excite.com (have been since 1997)

Music - Have Rhapsody Premiere Plus subscription. Also have ITunes as I have an Iphone

Cell - Iphone model 3GS using IOS5!.

Email - Eudora OSE using ISP's POP3 email

Finance - Quicken 2012 Deluxe R3 (had used Microsoft Money in the past)

I also have Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student and Microsoft Works 9.0 (Have for compatibility with works database files (newest database file is from 2006 though)

ISP -Verizon Fios - Have TV as well with DVR and all the movie channels including HBO, Cinemax, Showtime/TMC, Starz/Encore, and Epix

With the year 1/2 over,I thought it would be time for another movie post.

GREEN HORNET Caught opening day but in 2D (The 3D surcharge has gone UP ANOTHER 2!)−∗∗Nomore3DformeexceptpossiblyTuesdaysattheShowcase(BargaindayandNO3Dsurcharge−onbargaindayanyway−SawToyStory3IN3DFOR2!) - No more 3D for me except possibly Tuesdays at the Showcase (Bargain day and NO 3D surcharge - on bargain day anyway -Saw Toy Story 3 IN 3D FOR 2!)−∗∗Nomore3DformeexceptpossiblyTuesdaysattheShowcase(BargaindayandNO3Dsurcharge−onbargaindayanyway−SawToyStory3IN3DFOR4.75!)

THE ART OF GETTING BY Also saw Saturday of opening weekend. Should have released the original R "Homework" version that played at Sundance. Hope the Blu Ray will have the extra scenes didn't :(

Green hornet (probably 2D) Seen opening day in 2D!
No Strings Attached (Perhaps with Joan or Valerie) saw Friday of 2nd week No Joan or Val though
Arthur (2011) I can't stand Russel Brand but i LOVED the original.Saw Thursday following opening weekend
Scream 4 (could they release the first 3 on Domestic Blu Ray or at least anamorphic DVD?) I see a box set in this film's future
only 1 was not anamorphic they did release Blu rays and I saw Scream 4 Saturday of opening weekend
Friends with Benefits (another Joan/ Valerie flick) :) saw Saturday of opening weekend No Joan, Val , or Maria though.

I wonder what will be coming out of Sundance

1/14 : Add Just Go With it to list saw on Blu Ray rental

2/1: probably a few others as well

3/31 have not seen a film in a theater since No Strings Attached despite having $30 in movie cards

What I have and use

PC Still the Dimension E510 I had close to 5 years ago. I possibly wouldn't mind getting a newer video card other then that it still works for me.

Came with XP running windows 7 on it.

Web browser - Generally Firefox 3.6.12 Do have IE9 beta as well.

Writer's Block: Book based

Book based

Is there a book you really loved that was subsequently turned into a movie? Did it live up to your expectations? Why or why not?

The 1984 adaptation of 1984 was so darn close to the book.
It was shot on the same days and in the same place where the story was to have occurred.
I would had liked to have seen it in the theatre but i did get to see it on HBO and UNCUT on WSBK
I also have the DVD.

Windows 7

When I originally installed the Gold Master of Windows 7 back in October (I took the day off from work to do so assuming (correctly) I would have the DVD THAT DAY! I was doing a number of test installs using a secondary partition.

The install was nothing more then another test install using the GM disk.

I am going back to 32 bit but installing on the primary partition. I cannot type in my product ID until I am finished with the 64 bit.

The hardest stuff has been done -reinstalling Firefox and transferring my profile settings :)

Now let's reinstall my apps.

1133pm - Boo Boo on the 64 bit partition. Unintentionally uninstalled my old email program System restore doesn't bring it back completely
