| 12:10 am | Allllllrightyy Then I am preparing for most the final chances to bring up my grade before my finals in decemeber, and having a blast doing all sorts of other stuff.As I thought Halo 2 has hit campus hard, and most guys are huddled in front of their Tv's at night and weekends. I have yet to become the halo zombie, but other games that are also kickass. Donkey Konga (Don't knock it till you try it, I mean the have Rock Lobster as one of the songs. Amazing) and Star Wars Battlefront (Either be the rebel forces, empiral or Robot grunt in some awesome star wars battle. No jedi which make a plus, that and rag doll effect)I am planning to come out the weekend of Thanksgiving. I be back home from Thanksgiving day till early sunday morning.On Sunday night I come back to MSU, I get to do the real radio station. Yeah no more shitty internet radio.(Well at least for 6-8pm)Also I heard an interesting comment from one of the guys at the radio station. It being that Radiohead was the worst thing to happen to music. He said if the music industry and history were a building, radiohead would be the plane crashing into it. In other news I finally picked up The bends and Amnesiac. So in conclusion I say fuck that guy. | 11:29 pm | Killer Condom, not so much Man I've been so freakin busy, that I am think I am sick. So let's go through what has happened over the past few days:Man Ben Kweller concert was awesome, and he was totally wasted. It was incredibleSpeaking of increadible, The Incredibles was so freakin cool. And Saw was so fucking nuts!Man, for Halloween I was "The waking of the dead" I wore a robe and had a zombie mask.Sweet D is taken for again. I have myself a girlfriend. Her name is Sandra and she is spanish major. Cliente!I've been doing a lot of drawing lately, plus I'm taking pictures over the past few of my adventures. I been making t-shirt designs for Fencing, Needless to saw all were rejected because they weren't apporiateSome included such designs as: "We go down the strip, more often than a las vegas prostitute","A typical date with a fencer: 1. advance 2. push,push,push 3. retreat" (had hilirious pictures to go with each on the tird picture there was a guy running with a girl crying in bed) and one shirt had a silhouette of fencer holding a sword which looked remarkably like a huge penis. So me and a friend have decided to make a few unoffically. I bought this awesome DVD intitled "Coming Distraction" from Troma, of course. Man all the trailers I've never heard of all on one Dvd. Also Rabid Grannies as a movie looks fantastic. Killer Condom, not so muchTomarrow is the black eyed peas concert, and I was able to get row 2 seats, in a freakin stadium awesome. | 5:48 pm | No, me guesto School is fuckin crazy. Over the past few days study has been a real biotch. But that's ok. I'm about to go see "Battle of Algiers" followed by "Anchorman" What a combination. Plus their free.I saw the chicago comedy group "Second City" when they came through and that was hilarious. Something that isn't funny, the kids in the "Last Spartan Standing" compatition. Kind of a last comic standing for MSU. Man I saw Team America and it was awesomely bad, like I laughed but let's get real that story was lacking. But again that was funnier than Last Spartan Standing.Over the past months I've picked up a few bands that I haven;t really listened to before and have started to really like. Those being: Pixies, Elvis Costello, The Roots, and Ben Kweller. Black eyed Peas and William Shatner too but those are for the fun of listening. Also I saw William Shatner's live performance on Leno and it was amazing. He needed the lyrics to his own song, which is a cover of Common People. But still.Things I've also picked up on, comics about every week I pick up at least 4 or 5 books. Man, I miss free comics.The radio DJ gig is going pretty good, I helped them out a few weeks ago. But you know what didn't have any respect for Rodney Dangerfield, that drug induced coma. Now, that was too soon. So once again the Boston Red Sox are in the playoff, and yet again the face the Yankees. Perhaps if Boston was good this year, Santa will deliever a championship. But if they do win, I will be really pissed that I didn't get to join in the riot. Damn So Concerts I have tickets to include: Ben Kweller, and Black Eyed Peas. People I don't have a ticket for: Uncle Kracker. I can't believe he is still touring and get this he wants 20aticket.Someonethinkstheiragoodmusician.MeanwhileBobDylanissellinghisticketsfor20 a ticket. Nothing against Dylan, but I love the song "Let's get retarded" Man at the Football game I got the foam hand in the shape of the rock on hand. It is sweet.(Period) Also the Presidental Debate was excellent. To see Bush get so upset with Kerry would take and then cut off the moderator was great. | 12:16 am | So will he get some respect? Well Rodney Dangerfield, I'm sure you'll get some respect now. But anyway some things going on in Derek Town. First Saw the movie Garden State and enjoyed about as much as Enterinal Sunshine of the spotlessmind. (Which I really enjoyed) America the audiobook is very excellent I would recomend it to anyone, I plan on getting the book itself later. Speaking of America; Team America should be fantastic. Also all the debating is interesting. Especially when Edwards kicks Dick "The penguin" Chaney. I started work on some new drawings, mainy involving the evil crew. I've done Nick and Serene so far and moving stedely through the group. Perhaps if I figure out how to put pictures on this damn journal I'll post them. I just picked up the new Cake and so far I really like it. I considered getting the William Shatner cd, "Has Been" but realised that I sounds pretty bad. Sorry Ben Folds. Also I was very tempted to get Everclear's The best of... Today but decided another day for Art. I watched Jurassic Park with some friends and realised why it became so big for. Awesome Dinosaurs, fantastic cinematography, and excellent quotes. Other sketches I finished, my tatoo. It's a very rough sketch but awesome none the less. | 10:16 am | Sweet D the DJ So yesterday was my first day working for the college radio internet station. Yes, they let me have a 2 hour show to play songs. Best part there are request songs and since there is no phone, I pick personnaly the request. | 3:25 pm | This week in the news. So I finally got Spaced: The first season on VHS. So I get a group together to watch the tape. Since I don't have a vhs in my room I planed it in someone elses room eagerly waiting to finally watch the british comedy. I pop it in and blue screen. No go, nothing but blue. So the Spaced party was a big failure. Aparently in the UK they use the tape system PAL and we use NTSC. Lucky for me, the college library has 1 PAL player, so I got to watch the show there. Hiliarous, funny as all hell. I plan to tape it there from PAL to NTSC. I also saw Saved and Super Size Me at our free student theatre. Saved was surprising funny and good. If you get a chance to see it, see it.I had a Biozombie party the other day we got a group together, had pizza and snacks and enjoyed the cinematic masterpeice Biozombie. Needless to say the legend of Biozombie is spreading rapidly because of its comic genius.I had training at the college radio station, and basicly that was all the training I get. Hell I start tomarrow on the internet radio station. So which basicly means anybody can listen to it, but only 25 people are able to listen at one time (yah they figure they don't need more than that)The website is thefix.org (I haven't been able to get it yet but in theory it should work) I will be on for two hours 4pm-6pm. every tuesday. | 12:26 pm | The return of Sweet D!!! So anyway the past few days have benn, well weird. Let's start from the beginning. Starting with me comming from Fencing practice and finding about 30 little victoria secret dogs on the road. Apparently they are for some promotion where people are supposed to find them around campus over the next few weeks. So my new made friend chris and I picked them bitches up. With my collection of the booty I gave them out to some girls around campus and saved on so that humphrey could be happy. Very Happy.The other day when Nader came, some people who I met I told them "My parents call me Derek, my friends call me Sweet D" So they yelled across the auditorium, "Hey Sweet D, we got you a seat" Sweet D is alive again!I went to learn training at the local college radio station, Impact. Which is so much better than WBRU in the music department but no so much in the prizes department (Ani Deffarnico tickets?)What the hell is the point of the Diet Pepsi slurpee? So the the Bush twins stopped by the other day. At one of the local halls on campus. I went to see them, but appartently you needed to either support bush or be a repbulican and sign a sheet like a week ago. Appartenly they wanted no demacrats getting anywhere near the drunken' Bushes.Johnny Ramone dead.And finally Porn in the news. Yes there was Porn in the news. I guess back in the 70s and 80s they used to show Porn on campus with the admistration being ok with it. Ok starts with my bowling class right then I go to the caferteria where they have ICEEs (Cherry awesome) I get back to my room, a church guy is there asking my roomates about their faith. So after about oh thrity minutes I ask him, "So why actauly are you here?" He leaves in about a minute and half after saying that he was just here to talk. Then I get my Ben Folds "Super D" Ep. Which has a darkness and ray charles song on it. Not to mention a song about a city called kalamazoo (which is ten minutes away from me) Then I see Nader speak. Yes, he came to Michigan state and spoke to whoever wanted to listen. Which was surprising large. When I got to my fenching pratice we finally got swords. Excellent. Way to be an awesome day, monday. I addition for a movie that is to be filmed on campus entitled "college" The scripit is really good and the makers are planning to basicilly enter it in every film festival this side of the sun. So if I am in it them bam, I might be the next napoleon dymnoite. Minus coke bottle, and buck teeth. Working on afro.And I saw Dave chappelle live on friday, which was hilirous! Also annoying people yelling throughout the stand-up. "Rick james!, R. Kelly, Sing it!, What? (no relation to stone-cold what?), lil john and weed. But anyway he was funny and he wore a bill cosby hat. I had horrible seats and for a few seconds wondering if that was a younger bill cosby down there.Michigan state won its first home game this season. It is more fun to be in the cheering section then actually watch the game. Let's see then I went clubbing at a place called sparty's. It was interesting. Nothing really exciting there. And then a couple of us went over a girls house and watched boondock saints. I didn't get home till 5 am. Hey, what's a player to do?I bought my bowling text book. | 1:31 am | The sweetness- Jimmy Eat World If you're listening, whoa-a-a-a-a-aSing it back, whoa-a-a-a-a-aStripped of your tethered unwinds, whoa-a, whoa-aUp and outward to find, whoa-a, whoa-aSo this week I saw Jimmy Eat World. Great show, I really enjoyed myself. So I started thinking about other bands that I really liked, and checked to see what happened to them.And today I am in mourning. Everclear is no more. That's right possibly one of my favorite bands of all time is gone. But there is a white light shinning through the dark clouds. I am being by white light, I mean "white lightning" Art Alexakis' new band that plays new and old everclear songs. Also a greatest hits comes out in October: Ten years gone: the best of everclear. I also bid on a concert t-shirt of everclear at e-bayAlso Ben folds just put out a new ep entitled - "Super D" which has a cover of the darkness' "get your hands off of my womem". This was made for me.I have been longing for two cds while here at college. One is radiohead's OK Computer and the second is Junior/SeniorI saw the movie "The girl next door" and enjoyed. Not so much for the mild nudity but the awesome story that has no moral and the second is just it was cool. Very surprisingCampus is empty, everyone went home for labor day. It is like a ghost town. | 8:44 pm | D & D to the extreme So some intresting things to happen1st being there is a staples vending machine in the halls. First candies, then sodas, then ice creams. Now pencils, blank cds, and 500 pages of printer paperAlso while riding fast back to my dorm and asian kid on his bike caught up with me. We both looked at each other then back at the empty sidewalk in front of us. And the race was on. I've never meet him before. But it was the best bike race ever. I won taking a dirt path over the sidewalk.And now the best. I was in blockbuster renting some movies. The guy ringing me up said something. So I said, what? He said "oh, nothing just have my mind on the game motioning to a book on hunter: the reckoning. [now for those of you who don't know what hunter the reckoning is. It is a game about two years old. That invovles vampires] So I said, "oh hunter: the reckoning" I saw he had a notebook that he was transfering the infomation into. He then says he is working on a plot to a game. So I figure he is talking about writing plots to a video game, possibly a vampire one. Then he says that he and friends play the game every so often. So then I figure he is doing some dungeon and dragons thing. He then starts talking about people dressing up as vampires and warewolfs. So then he explains that he and his friends do a live-improve role playing at night. He asked if I wanted to go with him tonight, I said, "um...maybe next time." Because if I was going to do that I would wants some friends to come with so we can look back and die laughing (Comment on this) |

| 11:47 am | I'll swallow your soul!!! So it’s college is in full swing for me. The best news to come up during the past few days. I found out that because I picked my major I must drop my IAH 201 class. Otherwise known as U.S. and the world. I cried when I heard the news. TEARS OF JOY!! Not tears of fears. But anyway I had to take two different classes to cover the loss. So now my schedule is a little more hectic but the classes are great. The first being Production design for theater involving scenery and lighting. Yeah I know real exciting right? But the second is bowling. That’s right I’m taking a college level bowling class (compared to a non-existing high school level course). So that’s fun every other day a hour at the lanes.Another great story is how when I was at my introduction to my major, I started talking to this girl. And the usual question of what’s your major came up. She replied “Journalism, what’s yours?” And I replied, “Adverting” She then said “Oh, when did you lose your soul?” WHEN DID YOU LOSE YOUR SOUL? What the hell kind of question is that? I then replied “I plan on putting the soul back into adverting, like the fight temptations.” When didn’t speak after.Also one of the best arguments happened in my dorm yesterday. My roommates where sitting in the study area and looking out the window. One of them, Big D, mentioned that a passing by girl looked fine. Albert, otherwise known as A-Jay, looked up and saw “a fat bitch”. What then occurred was an awesome thirty minute ridiculous yelling match. Involving such phases as. “D likes the Fat bitch”, “Eat off her stomach like a round dinner plate.” “ and when she’s on top you’d be like unable to breath (followed by suffocating motions)”and “shut up and your pizza, you fat bitch” AmazingFencing is going good meeting a lot of people actually.
