The crooked thorn in a Rose [Jun. 17th, 2016|11:00 am]"Out of the Darkness comes the Dim"
This transition to Hampshire from Orkney has been a very perilous trip. I have lurched from one unstable live-in landlord to another. With the exception of one, all endowed with a near-impossible rule set which tenants were expected to live by and a level of unsettling volatility that makes living with them, like walking on egg-shells filled with drawing pins.As point of urgency, I'm glancing over the first two (The first was abominable, however. And without doubt - should not be allowed to advertise for tenants.) to focus on the current one. He who lives with a very lovely partner, but thought nothing of launching at me today for leaving the gate to the property open. Three times, now. This, as it happens is the height of my crime against his property. On perhaps two occasions I absent-mindedly walked into the house without removing my shoes and once I forget to clean the floor after a shower. These were enough to provoke a completely unexpected verbal attack regarding my lack of courtesy. Resulting in N, the landlord, telling me this is my final warning (I've not even had a first.) and that he will chuck me out. I had previously, made it aware that my Uncle had died not 6 days ago, which he even went so far to mention. But, apparently, not even that is excuse for disrespecting the unwritten rules of his domicile. You might say that he can't do this. Well, several have. However, he will and he has in the past. I don't wish to lead to bringing unpleasant legal proceedings against him for the potential likelihood that eventually he will act on these words. But, what else can I do?This is Britain today, for the low-end earner. Being the hands of unscrupulous employers and equally unscrupulous "so-called" landlords. I haven't yet asked if he will re-imburse my deposit (Since it was a bank transaction between himself and my father. But, if he seeks to retain it - he will have a legal battle on his hands.)The longer I stay here, though. The more I am beginning to loathe it. Heartless, cruel and greedy are the three words that will resonate, if by some coincidence, I end up moving on further afield.

Sewing book coversmy hand is stiffened by coldso sharp the needle!Rising with the sunfrosted ground cracks beneath mehow perfect the world!Early morning sunthe sun hides her gentle facenothing is solid.Under bare branchesdaffodil bulbs push skywardsmy heart opens too.And this was my response:_The Silver thimbleAttached in cold, firm grip .The point matters not.The full moon appearsHer many eyes glisten, tear.Mourning her loverThe green willow boughCovers it's fragile childrenProtection from harm._There are reasons as to why I chose to use 3-haikus against four, but I'll leave you to interpret that. Also, instinctively, the Moon has always been female to me (You can blame my first and probably most poignant e-love for that. She knows who she is, though she's incredibly unlikely to read this.)Hope you enjoy the poems.-D x
