Bringin' it back to the ol' school [Jun. 29th, 2008|04:08 pm]Me
[Current Music |No Age - Eraser]So, this has been months, no? I guess with virtually everyone I know being on facebook, I rarely touch live journal anymore, but for those of you I know who are still kickin' it ol' school, I do a bit of updating over the next few days. Last night was the eve of the epic 2Pie Party. Ivy, Brett, Tshy and I assembled 10 delicious homemade pies including strawberry cream cheese, chocolate-vanilla pudding, key lime, chocolate chip walnut, pumpkin, peach, apple cherry, blueberry and lemon meringue. The last five had homemade crusts and all fruit pies with the exception of pumpkin, were made from fresh fruit. I believe there were around 21 guests at the peak, but there around 25 total. I've been using a Luis' scanner, since my mother borrowed and broke my original one. It seems like the resolution isn't so great on this one, sadly, but here's a little project I began working on a while back. I call it "Epic Bowie Battle." Epic Bowie Battle

[Current Music |Sunset Rubdown - The Courtesan Has Sung]Being the end of the month as it is, I am now financially endowed. Due to this influx in moneys, I decided to pull Ivy over for a chex-mix-off, which went well and was what I needed. Me and my man for the past 10 months have decided to call it off, quite mutually and with little conflict. Can't say I'm shattered, but it is a bit of a downer. Attempted to draw yesterday, but I guess I no longer have anything to say. Just for the hell, I drew out a preliminary sketch of what I would have submitted for the new Honor's t-shirt, if I still technically qualified...... it would have included a childlike font reading "University of Lafayette Honor's Program" on the front and this picture on the back (I was also planning on adding the rest of the unicorn) with the caption, "We maybe a little different, but that's 'cause we're special." I kinda wanted it to look like an shirt that special Ed kindergarteners would wear on field trips to the zoo, so that teachers could spot them more easily.

[Current Music |Animal Collective - For Reverend Green]So, things continue on...Today, parking on campus was re prioritized, therefor, I was able to seize a spot, albeit in the dreaded "Lot 17," which sits on the far side of Pangaea. I took the time to calculate my scholarship money versus the number of hours I work and found that I make $92 an hour. With this influx of income, I sadly chose to further facilitate my time-wasting by purchasing an Xbox 360. Shame on me, perhaps, but I can now bash in zombie heads with immaculate resolution and bass guitars.

If a frog had wings... [Aug. 1st, 2007|01:02 pm]Me
[Current Music |Animal Collective - Unsolved Mysteries]A little design I hope to submit to Threadless.com within the next few days. Believe it or not, none of my roomies have heard the phrase, "If a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass when it hops." Pfffft, losers and foreigners the lot of 'em.Long time, no? Well, if I were to say nothing has happened in the past 6 months, it would be untrue. Graduated in May, worked through the summer, starting for my Ph.D. this month with a full scholarship, teaching position and $14,000 a semester. Needless to say, I put in my notice at my menial job and only have three days left. Hopefully, with my weekends off I will be able to start back up with the artz.

[Current Music |The Knife]Hopefully, the Fowl Fest will go off without a hitch, and I will not go insane from working 35 hours a week while taking 18 credits. The only time I've really had to draw is during classes, which has really only provided the opportunity for drawing and inking. I'm trying to get back into starting new stuff, but I'm still stalling. Until then, redrawing keeps me busy and at least practiced. I'm procrastinating in buying my books, as I don't feel like shelling out 92 bucks for a two inch by ten inch by six inch soft cover book for my English class.

Baker's Quarter Dozen [Jan. 16th, 2007|01:26 am]Me
[Current Music |Okkervil River]So, the semester begins, and I was pretty much artistically unproductive during the break, since I was working so much. I've finally decided that I must use font, because having to draw in the dialog myself is so tedious, that I avoid editing comics all together. We've been under staffed at work, but, fortunately, my bakery has upgraded in coolness, as now Lukas and Luis work in it! We shall now be called "The Baker's Quarter Dozen!" Of Montreal occurs Saturday, which will be most joyous indeed.

I've been...okay. Finally checked my grades, which I've been dreading, but fortunately turned out with a 3.83 for the semester. I'm trying to get back into drawing, but I'm really out of practice. Been vegging with Luis' Wii, which is nice. I updated my AIM, and now, for some crazy reason, it will not let me log on as proantithesis anymore, so, henseforth, or, until I can get access to that name again, look for me as SideStreamComics on AIM.
