On giant robots, beloved cats, and bad editing.
I finally finished watching Gundam Seed. I dig it. Definately my favourite AU Gundam and the closest to the UC(that's not a coincidence).
Another is it provided a nice escape since George died. Losing her hit me hard, and it ain't done hittin, but the giant robots and lasers and spaceships and stuff offered a nice, if brief, distraction.
I bought the New Essential Guide to Alien Species. IIt came out awhile ago, but I didn't find it until recently. t's alright overall I guess, but the editing seems to be shitty-to-nonexistent. When a book is bad, lots of times you can kinda tell if it's the author's fault or the editor's fault, and this seems to me to be an editing issue. There's just nonsensical statements and cause-and-effect relationships drawn that are not very clear. I'm talking about things of the "If it weren't for my horse I never would have went to college" class. like:
"a small tubelike snout allows them to breathe in sufficient oxygen, something that would normally be a difficult task in exceptionally cold temperatures"
HUH? WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?
