I'M ENDING WITH THIS: I'm having a bad week and I'm hyping myself up in circles and I need to take a chill pill a little. Lol. IN TERMS OF OPTIMISM: Things could be a LOT worse, and the school I am going to is working on instating a Chinese minor and so maybe things will work out there, I'm just being jittery because I'm packing and my flight is the 31st.
I'll feel better about this later, probably. I mean, I'm still bitter at college #1, but college #2 has done nothing but be awesome to me, excepting the fact that I have no roommate yet, and it's like christ, do I have to order one of those off of Amazon or something?

Because #1 is a hard to find demo track that was originally released on a free Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance mixtape, it's available here. This mix could do with some serious re-arranging, and a lot of it is recycled from another "America" mix but I like it, and feel like it moves from pop-y to jazzy to rock/clubbing in a way that covers both coasts and all sorts of "Summer" in America.
If you're super in need of a fanmix with music to download as "preview" because you can only download music for 24 hours before the law states you have to delete it and purchase the damn thing...
Well, I made a Sukka (Sokka/Suki) Avatar Fanmix a looooong time ago called Comical. Unfortunately the best song on their got reduced to five seconds so to hear Hey Leonardo - Blessed Union of the souls, I suggest youtube. Hark! Marvel at the fact that sokka sounds just like that. xD
As an aside, I'm headed off to college next month, and one of the future fellow students I've been talking to has agreed to trade musical mixes with me. Theme: "Surprise me!" (could be ANYTHING so there's nothing to narrow it down), and limits: "No rap or country" which to be honest, frustrates me.
What's country? Are you saying "No" to Johnny Cash, or Garth brooks (agree there). No to Taylor Swift or no to Kenny Chesney? No to Lady Antebellum? I don't like country, but I worry if you can't take an "I walk the line"
That's not even bringing up rap. Is lil' john not your thing, or is it Kanye West that turns you off? Is Tupac too much, or are you only considering Snoop Dogg? Is Will Smith even in consideration? Does Spoken word bother you?
IDK IDK we got to talking over a mutual love of harry potter and A Very Potter Musical but now I need to come up with a playlist and make it perfect. So dear friends list: Help?

I mean, I used to get offended when people basically implied I was watching the show through my ass, but I got an irl friend into Avatar, and swung over to her house to watch the last five episodes of season two with her.
The finale episode conversation went a little like this:
Me: Omgosh I love this part-
[Katara offers to heal Zuko's scar after yelling at him, then sharing a touching moment over the loss of their mothers.]
Me: She should ~heal~ him. ♥
Friend: But wait, does Aang really have to give up Katara forever?
Me: ...What.
Friend: Aang. DOES HE REALLY HAVE TO GIVE UP KATARA D:?
Me: You're missing this scene. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MOMENT.
Friend: ;-; How saaad. Will he never be able to enter the Avatar state unless he leaves her for_ever_?
Me: You told me not to spoil you, omg.
Friend: WELL DOES HE?!?
Me: No, just long enough to save the day, jesus christ.
Friend: Huh?
Me: He just has to like...leave her alone and save everyone else instead of freaking out about her all the time, idk.
Friend: Oh. Okay. I guess that makes sense. :]
Me: BUT THERE WAS ZUKO THERE. YOU JUST MISSED IT. ARGH. THEY HAD A ~MOMENT~ AND HE WAS BEING A GOOD PERSON!

It's just proof. She was so busy fretting over Aang that she didn't notice Zuko conversing with Katara. I was busy going "damn I love their ~cavemoment~"
I was like I KNOW THIS ISN'T CANON, BUT GODDAMN THIS JUST FLEW OVER YOUR HEAD AS ANYTHING IMPORTANT AT ALL OMG. and I couldn't stop laughing at all her observations:
Friend: Sokka's kind of a pimp, huh? I mean he dated that moon chick, Yue, and now he's like, making out with Suki two weeks later.
Me: Well, he did meet Suki first. And he had mixed feelings, that was that whole scene with the moon in the sky.
Friend: Oh. Yeah.
Me: *eats popcorn*
Friend: He's still kinda a pimp.
Me: Yup.

*she flips through my Avatar Magazine that covers the space between seasons 1 & 2*
Friend: *stops* You mean to tell me that Zuko hooks up with that Emo chick?
Me: *trying not to giggle* You mean Mai?

No where near being done, but I got an idea, and had to run with it. Say hello to the ~Mild mannered~ Shipper: Who is the mild mannered shipper, you ask? Well, they're someone who finds the appeal in every ship. Even if they don't like it, they've figured out why someone else might. They may ship everything, or only one thing, but you can bet your ass they'll be positive about it. They're fucking classy~ bitch.

My goal is really just to write a story that lets me delve into the Fire Nation as much as possible without being composed of oneshots, but if I can't manage to make it work out, I'll oneshot series the heck outta the Fire Nation.
I keep changing my mind about what I want. I started off telling myself this would end up Zutara, but then I rewatched the finale and realized that that wouldn't make sense with Mai around, and I could come up with no excuse to not have Mai, and her character is so damn difficult that I hate writing her because I'm afraid I won't get it. So it became Maiko and Kataang by virtue of it starting DIRECTLY after the finale, but I suck at writing Kataang even more than Maiko and I was GOING to have ZK bffery but then somehow Zuko ended up asking TOPH to help find his mommy because he was a right dick about their "field-trip" and he shouldn't have been, and of course Mai would go, and then Katara was going to end up being a nosy bitch and going too because she has a mommy complex and then of course AANG would go, and then suggest EVERYONE should go, and I gave up at Toph and I mentally told aang to stop being such a whore in canon because when I try to write him IC he ends up making my story so damned complicated that I give up.
ARGH. I was just like "TOO MANY PEOPLE. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE JUST BFFERY. AND MAYBE MAI. MAITARA BFFERY TOO. STOP FUCKING BFFING WITH EVERYONE. GODDAMN AANG, CAN'T YOU BE A HORRIBLE PERSON, FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE?"
Normally writing the whole gang would be not such a big deal, but I had plans for OCs and that was just like "too many characters fuck with a writers sanity."
This was all before I tried to work out a legitimate plot besides "Find Ursa."
Here it is thus far:

Zuko wasn’t quite sure how long both Katara and Aang had been missing from the party, but he did notice when they finally walked back in, both blushing hotly.

He glanced over at Uncle, who lifted a brow and poured himself another cup of tea, nodding over at the two who had walked back in. Zuko shrugged, although he suppose it should’ve been obvious to him sooner- he had been the one tracking Aang down for the last year. He said nothing however, as Mai was leaning over the table, and plucking the paintbrush from Sokka’s hands with a swift and practiced grace. She pulled out another sheaf of paper and dipped the brush in ink, ignoring Sokka’s cries of indignation as she began to paint the gang her way, which knowing Mai, was going to turn out a lot better for Zuko, if no one else.
At least he wouldn’t have bor-q-pine hair anymore.
