Why Make a Shark Craft?
Why should you make this adorable shark craft? Sharks deserve some human love. Since we can't love them up close, the craft shall do!
Plus, crafting is so much fun. It's a great family activity. You can also make it enjoyable by putting on the baby shark song or playing a shark game. For example, you can make a matching game by drawing different sharks and matching them to a card with the same image.
Moreover, all the cutting, coloring, and gluing activities can help them refine their hand-eye coordination and develop better fine motor skills.
Since this craft requires the use of paper plates and colored papers, little kids can learn about different textures. They'll also see how painting/coloring on different mediums gives different results.
When I do animal craft work with my kids, I make sure to tell them some fun facts about these exciting creatures. Find some fun facts about sharks below.

Free Shark Crafts
I have created a free shark template for all the creative crafty people out there. Use it to make your shark craft full of lots of fun.
The craft project I shared has nine easy steps. Start by printing the template and cutting out all the pieces carefully. Paste these cutouts on different colored papers. Eyes on black, body on blue, and smile on red. Paste the large pieces on a paper plate. The next six steps are all about adding details. Stick googly eyes, give the sharp teeth a white outline, add fins and tail, and finish off by defining the nostrils with a black marker.
I hope you enjoyed the crafty ride. Create something cute on your next craft day, and have fun.

How To Make A Shark Using A Paper Plate?
Start by downloading the shark template that you grab at the bottom of the post.
Cut out each of the items from the template.
Trace the small V shapes out of black paper, the smile shape out of red paper, and the fins on blue paper.
The eyes and the smile with teeth can remain on the white template paper. A hint to cut the inside of the teeth out is to poke the end of the scissors through the middle of the section you want to cut out and then cut towards the edges and along the line of the template.
Shark Head
Start by grabbing the paper plate, the large blue piece, the red smile, the teeth, and the glue.
Glue the blue "shades to the top of the paper plate. Glue the teeth on top of the red smile, and then glue the shark’s mouth to the bottom of the plate.
Shark Fins
Next, grab the fins and the black v's, and the glue.
Glue the black pieces to the end of each shark fin. Place two black small triangles at the two ends of the shape of the tail fin too.
Shark Body
Grab all the different parts of the shark to assemble the shark.
Glue the fins to the back of the paper plate shark's face. The shark's dorsal fin (top fin) is glued to the top of my shark. The two pectoral fins (bottom fins) can go to each side of the bottom of the shark's face. Last, glue the tail off the back and to the left of the paper plate.
Next, you can draw the eyes on the two shark eye templates. Or if you have googly eyes, you can glue those on there.
Glue the eyes onto the shark's face.
The last step is to draw two small lines in the nose area as nostrils.
Viola, you have your own sharks!
