What do I need to make the Crack Chicken Dip Recipe?
This recipe is super easy to prepare with just nine ingredients. Here is what you will need to make this simple chicken spread:
- Cream Cheese: Plain cream cheese, softened is the base for this delicious dip recipe.
- Crushed Red Pepper: The crushed red pepper gives the dip some texture and heat.
- Paprika: Using paprika will give the dip some color and a little extra flavor!
- Ground Cayenne Pepper: I use just a pinch of cayenne to give the recipe an extra spicy kick. However, if you are not a fan, simply leave it out.
- Minced White Onion: There is just a teaspoon of minced white onion in the dip so it does not overwhelm the flavor.
- Bacon Bits: You can use any kind of bacon bits you like. I love making my own bacon bits by cooking and crumbling bacon. However, if you are pressed for time the store bought ones work well too.
- Leftover Chicken: This is a great way to use up leftover chicken. However, if you do not have any on hand, you can used canned chicken. Just be sure to drain it well and take a paper towel to press out any additional moisture. Another option is to buy a rotisserie chicken at the store, remove the skin and dice it up.
- Mayonnaise: An alternative to using mayonnaise would be to use an equal amount of sour cream or plain Greek yogurt.
- Soy Sauce: I love adding soy sauce to this dip for a flavor boost!
