What Public Health tracks

Public Health tracks Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), Influenza (flu), and Respiratory Syncytial Virus Disease (RSV) using a variety of methods. The team that tracks these diseases creates weekly dashboards during the respiratory virus season. At the end of the year, a yearly report summarizing the data will be available.

The 2025–2026 season began on September 28, 2025, and continues through October 3, 2026.

Public Health tracks flu and RSV cases by MMWR weeks, which is a standard way across the United States of numbering weeks in a year to track disease. Weekly reports start on Sunday and end the following Saturday.

All data are preliminary and may change as more reports are received. Dashboards will be updated weekly on Fridays around 2 p.m. and will show data through Saturday of last week.

Overview Dashboard

The Seasonal Respiratory Illness Dashboard provides an overview, displaying healthcare visits involving acute respiratory illness, disease-specific trends, wastewater activity levels, and related deaths.
