Teachers as Artists Exhibition Showcases Talent of Art Educators - Maryhill Museum of Art (original) (raw)

Goldendale, WA – Maryhill Museum of Art is delighted to announce the upcoming exhibition Teachers As Artists, which showcases the talents of art educators from across Washington and Oregon. Curated by Sorcha Meek Paul, and juried by Jane Pagliarulo, Master Printer at Atelier Meridian, the exhibition is presented in partnership with the Washington Art Education Association and the Oregon Art Education Association.

This juried exhibition, held in one of the most spectacular gallery spaces in the Pacific Northwest, the museum’s M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center, has put Maryhill on the map with both Washington and Oregon art educators. The exhibition features a diverse selection of artwork in a variety of mediums: painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, mixed media, and digital art.

“We are thrilled to present this exhibition, which celebrates the creativity and artistic talent of our region’s teachers”, said Sorcha Meek Paul, Curator of Education at Maryhill Museum of Art. “Art teachers who continuously develop their professional and artistic skills, not only enrich their classrooms but continue to develop as individuals. This exhibition is a unique opportunity for art educators to showcase their work, inspire their students, and make new and deeper connections with the wider community.”

The opening reception for Teachers As Artists: The Way I See It, will take place on March 23, 2024 from 2-4 pm. Opening remarks will be held at 3 pm with Executive Director Amy Behrens who will be announcing the following awards: Best in Show, First place, Second place, Third place, Curator of Education Award, and several Honorable mentions.
