It’s a travesty, a disaster, a blight on the history of superheroes and cinema itself. I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Still, for much of “Madame Web,” even when it turns bad, it’s a pleasure to see Johnson in this kind of movie.

Loved it! Great suspense, excitement and cast. 10/10 backstory and morale. Looking forward to the sequel already.

the movie changed my life the way madam would webwith her talented cast of supporting side characters was great, such a well scripted movie with no major plot holes or frustrating conclusions and the use of britney spears toxicwas an out of body expirience and i starteddancing in the movie theatre, i bought a ticket for every showing it was in theatres (surprisingly it was only in for a week and the theatre was empty every time) flawles movie

Everything about it seems flat and artificial and contrived, from the limp dialogue to the annoying special effects to some surprisingly uninspired performances, given the talent level of the cast.

The only real bummer about Madame Web, the latest installment in the Spider-Man chronicles, isn’t that it’s bad, but that it never achieves memorably terrible status. The story is absurd, the dialogue snort-out-loud risible, the fights uninspired. Even so, there are glimmers of wit and competency. And then there’s its star, Dakota Johnson, who has a fascinating, seemingly natural ability to appear wholly detached from the nonsense swirling around her.

Even Johnson has her limits, and Madame Web, one of Sony’s attempts to build out its own Spider-Verse, blows so far past them that you can practically guess which scenes were shot last based on the degree to which its star has given up.

Madame Web feels like a cross between an extended soda commercial and a teaser trailer for still more spinoffs.

Stupendously stupid and never remotely in control of its faculties, the film represents a kind of weaponized incompetence, hostile and assaultive.

It doesn't deserve such bad comments. You exaggerated a bit too much. I'm ashamed of myself for listening to you and delaying watching this movie for so long. I don't understand whether there is such an overreaction due to sexist thoughts.I'm so glad Dakota Johnson got rid of that insecure girl character who cares about her over-the-top man's sex. She showed that there will be more to her acting as well. What is disturbing to see? Don't you want to see true love? or to feel? The movie was successful in conveying its emotions to me. It was nice to feel his soul. I think it deserves this score. I hope it's because of the stupid comments

I became interested in this movie because of the trailer and I was right. At first I thought it would be a typical Marvel movie, but with each passing minute the movie became more and more interesting and the atmosphere captured me more and more. Of course, this movie is not without Marvel problems, but I liked the movie and I'm glad I watched it. Very atmospheric and interesting movie.

Fans of the Spider-Man universe might be surprised by the lack of direct connection to established characters, but the film does offer subtle nods to the web-slinging hero. If you're looking for a superhero movie with a unique protagonist and a focus on building a new world, Madame Web might be worth checking out. However, keep in mind that the film has slow pacing and lack of action.

I went into this movie not expecting much, as I am not really a movie guy but just so happened to watch this movie. My personal opinion is that it could have been better, in a story way, to split this movie into 2 (possibly 3) parts. While watching, I wouldn't think the girls would have had an emotional connection after just spending this short a time together. Cassandra (the main character) also spent a lot of time not with the girls which adds to this problem. The final action scene also relied on a lot of (in my opinion) cheap VFX explosions to try and convey a sense of danger, but it didn't really work. One saving grace is that while I don't know a lot about Spider-Man and it's universe, I did see slight nods to the larger picture hidden throughout.

Sony continues to seek to expand its universe of Spider-Man villains, and it's remarkable how it persists in making mistakes, getting worse as its films are released. While Venom still stands out for his charisma, Morbius and Madame Web can be considered among the worst films in the hero universe of all time. Now it remains to be seen whether Kraven will follow in the footsteps of his predecessors or present a twist... a significant **** problems begin with Sony's choice to hire the same screenwriters as 'Morbius' for 'Madame Web' - what outcome could we expect? Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama once again demonstrate incompetence in writing a cohesive script, with character development and motivations. The movie unfolds in a sequence of disconnected and accidental events. Nothing in it follows a coherent logic or timeline. However, it's not just the script that disappoints. The editing of 'Madame Teia' is disastrous, making the movie confusing and difficult to follow. It oscillates between being a superhero movie, an action movie, a drama or a comedy, and ends up being none of them. This inconsistency, combined with S.J. Clarkson's weak direction, makes 'Madame Web' one of the worst films of 2024.
