If you meet the film halfway, "Never Let Go" becomes enjoyably compelling and eerie. Yes, there are a good amount of scares to be had here, as Aja has only perfected his sense of jumpscare timing as well as his knack for finding collaborators who can conjure up some truly unsettling demonic zombie creatures.
Though not all of its clever ideas come together efficiently in the finale, its thematic ruminations on grief, sanity, rebellion and redemption are intrinsically intertwined to harrowing, claustrophobic effect, heightening the hallucinatory horrors and dread-soaked atmospheric pull.
I loved this movie!!!!! Especially the main character!!! The younger one of the two!! The way he acted got me so much in tune with the movie!!!!! That was great!!!
The movie constantly plays on what is real or possibly a hallucination. It is a constantly-simmerinf auditory suspense, leaving **** questions to make you fear the worst implications. Despite others' reviews,I argue the ending scenes spell out exactly what was happening making the movie less loftily cerebral than what others disparage it for.
As with many high-concept horrors, it falls apart as it grasps for an ending, but there's still enough dread, and three great central performances, to just about carry it through.
[Aja's] never quite sure if he wants to trick us with a jump scare or make us ponder weightier issues and, unable to do both efficiently, the film becomes lost in the murk in-between. Berry is, as ever, a strong anchor but by the time the credits roll, we’re ready to let go.
It may freak you out a little bit, and that may be enough for some people, but it only briefly grabs hold of something significant. Then it lets go.
Fun is banished from Aja’s latest, which starts out mildly intriguing and chalks up a few bracing jump scares before running out of juice.
Never Let Go never manages to answer any of a number of recurring questions adequately, and the movie makes no more sense than one of those head-scratchers by M. Night Shyamalan, which it annoyingly resembles.
Halle, her young fellow actors, and the movie were ️“Never Let Go” is a good psycho-thriller that is filled with tension for the entire movie; you want to get your snacks before the movie starts because you don’t want to miss any parts of this movie! This movie should be doing better at the box office and I hope it makes up for its losses on the streaming services. After performances in this movie, we must see more of Halle and the youngsters starring with her.
fine movie just maybe a little long. enjoyed reading the wikipedia plot summary more.

This was long and boring. NOT worth the drive to the movie theater. Halle was fine, the kids were fine too. It just was a stupid movie.
