Oddity is everything a horror film should be—creepy, exciting, unpredictable—and it leads to an ending that’s both shocking and inevitable.
Oddity is one of the best horror movies of the year.
Creepy Dark New Age I could watch this again for being whacky last 30 minutes

It’s a triumph of design, offering a creepy twist on such classic monsters as living dolls, the mummy and, in particular, the golem of Jewish folklore, a large clay figure that can be brought to life to do its creator’s bidding...
The situation’s gothic stylings and the isolated yet sprawling location give us a mile-deep trench of dread. The musical score, solid direction, and envious camera work all add finesse to the proceedings.
Oddity is another horror gem from writer-director Damian McCarthy with an enthralling performance by Carolyn Bracken.
Coolly executed and seductively simple, Oddity, the second feature from Damian McCarthy (after the unsettling, underseen “Caveat” in 2021), is a fun, back-to-basics supernatural thriller that cares more about making us jump than making us cringe.
Thanks to its expert staging, the film doesn’t lose much in the way of immediacy.
A rather simple tale told in a simple manner but it offers up a most unnerving journey along its twisted way to the truth.
I normally am not into supernatural films but this one works, for the most part. The cast does a good job and the horror hits when it comes. However, the plot doesn't do a whole lot for me. It can be a tad slow and predictable at times. Other than that though, I'm all for it. I think those truly into the genre would appreciate this one.

Despite the critical plaudits for this, I didn't think it was anything more than an average supernatural story.
