The Last Breath navigates its time at sea with real skill, and it provides us with a handsome final performance from Julian Sands, but sadly, the drama doesn’t quite float.
The Last Breath is competent to a point, without ever exceeding — or even achieving — baseline aquatic horror standards.
Sharks, while undeniably lethal, are also, studies have shown, kind of dumb. And “The Last Breath” is a cheesy new thriller that is even dumber than a real shark.
