Hills End is so good that in 20 years the discussion about the hot new indie guitar band might well focus on how much they look and sound like DMA’s. It’s an outstanding debut.
Beyond their all-guns-blazing single, Delete, there's little in the way of mystique on these 12 trim tracks, but there is much to savour. [Apr 2016, p.104]
It’s hard to ignore the inconsistency and feeling that something’s lacking from its second half. That said, the rough-around-the-edges charm and guitar-packed indie give DMA’s a great starting point on this album.
