Swiftie Amber O'Connor 'counted days' and 'counted miles' to see the Eras Tour

I've been a Swiftie for as long as I can remember. So you'd be right to assume I spent a long time counting the days to my Eras Tour show.

From my 'Lover' outfit to my matching nails, I had everything planned out. Now that my London date has been and gone (and "I had the time of my life"), I can confidently say I remembered almost everything I needed to enjoy the three-hour show. Almost.

Yes, I packed my portable charger and my friendship bracelets, but there's one essential I left home without: sun cream. Hopefully, it's an obvious must-have.

Thankfully, our seats were shaded but we still caught the sun during the day (

But fellow Swifties, please learn from my mistake if it's not already on your Eras Tour checklist. Even an overcast day in London can quickly turn into a scorcher, as I was reminded when I attended my show in June.

It's never a bad idea to have sun cream on hand when you're queueing outside Wembley Stadium or waiting inside the open-air venue. In the summer, the afternoon sun beats down on several sections around the stadium, as it's likely to do when Taylor plays five more sold-out shows at the venue in August.

While it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that sunburn increases your risk of sun cancer, I think it's a message worth repeating. As the NHS points out: "You can burn in the UK, even when it's cloudy."

That's why I think sun cream is the number one concert essential and I'm happy to call myself out on my mistake. Even if you've booked seats and think you'll spend most of the day in the shade, don't count on it. From the merch stands to the food trucks, lots of the attractions are outdoors. Plenty of the seats are sun-traps too.

Instead, remember the mastermind's advice: "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail", and save yourself from an avoidable concert fail by packing sun cream. Just don't take an aerosol container as those aren't allowed inside the stadium.
