Prince Harry's court ruling might impact his Royal Family reunion

Prince Harry lost his High Court case over his right to taxpayer-funded security and one expert believes it could impact his reunion with the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex filed a complaint in 2021 against the Home Office about the decision to strip him of taxpayer-funded security when he's in the UK. Harry was granted the right to appeal the decision in 2022, but courts upheld the decision on Wednesday.

Now, PR expert Ryan McCormick suggested Harry will be finding the situation "incredibly nerve-racking". Speaking to The Mirror, he suggested Harry will also be realising his Royal Family reconciliation is now a "fading fantasy".

Ryan told us: "When you chop off the hand that made you everything you are, there are consequences. Harry losing his personal security detail in the UK must be incredibly nerve-racking for him.

"He's probably realising that a peaceful reunion with his family or even a partial return to the prestige he once held are now fading flights of fantasy." Harry is planning on appealing the latest ruling once more. If he loses once more, he could be paying for more than £1 million in legal fees for both his team and the Home Office's.

Ryan said: "Regardless if Harry successfully appeals the ruling, the damage to both his ego and reputation are likely substantial." A spokesperson for the Home Office shared a statement after the ruling was made on Wednesday.

"We are pleased that the Court has found in favour of the Government's position in this case, and we are carefully considering our next steps. It would be inappropriate to comment further," they said.

"The UK Government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate. It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals' security," the statement finished.

Harry's legal team released a statement that they would appeal the ruling once more. "The Duke is not asking for preferential treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of Ravec’s own rules, ensuring that he receives the same consideration as others in accordance with Ravec’s own written policy," the statement read.
