While we'd all love to maintain pristine car interiors, the realities of life often result in various stains and spills, especially if you have children.

With this in mind, a savvy cleaning expert has shared her secret to restoring grubby car seats to their former glory. In a TikTok video that's taken the internet by storm, a homecare expert, known as @cleanfreakpro, revealed the common household item she swears by for sprucing up dirty car seats - and it's likely already in your kitchen cupboard.

In the helpful video, the cleaning whizz is seen squeezing out a laundry detergent capsule into warm water. She then soaks a couple of microfibre cloths in the mixture and ties them around a pan lid, using it as an improvised cleaning tool.

Holding the handle firmly, she scrubs the lid thoroughly over her seats, before using the cloths to clean between the crevices. By the end of the tutorial, the car seats look brand new, with all grubby marks completely removed.

A previous viral video from TikTok user @tipsandtrickswithq demonstrated that the same method can be applied to sofas and other living room upholstery.

They shared a glowing recommendation: "This had my whole entire house smelling amazing. I'm definitely going to keep doing this life hack, my couch looks so good! " You can bag 13 Bold laundry detergent tablets for a mere £3.50 at Asda, working out at just under 27p a pop.
