It's not always easy growing potatoes in your back garden

As the autumn season wanes, UK gardening fans are seizing every moment before winter's chill sets in.

One particularly green-fingered guru has taken to TikTok to show off his small garden triumphs, amassing a whopping 1.1million followers. The user, @plantedinthegarden, went viral with a post showing off his potato-growing prowess.

It read: "We grow our potatoes in containers and this is the result. We planted russet potatoes in grow bags and red fingerling potatoes in elevated wooden planter. Collectively we were able to get a decent harvest from our small backyard garden."

In the video, he reveals a planter overflowing with spuds, then buries them in a soil-filled container, proudly presenting the fruits of his labour. Despite space constraints, the gardener was thrilled with the abundant harvest.

He didn't specify how long it took, but the TikTok sensation was clearly pleased with the outcome of his dedication and care. The clip racked up 47,800 likes and heaps of comments since its recent upload.

Fans have been quick to compliment, with one admirer posting: "Your garden is so neat!" and others chiming in with praise like "Nice harvest."

Another fan summed it up: "Your garden is always amazing!"

The TikTok user often shares his gardening progress and tips with his partner. The couple take pride in eating well, learning, and living simply.

Recently, the pair managed to grow a year's worth of vegetables in their garden, leaving them astounded by the quantity.
