Donald Trump celebrated his 78th birthday with a speech in front of his fawning fans with a bombshell speech in which he told the US electorate: “We don’t need your vote. I have so many.”

The former president was speaking to members of the ‘Club 47’ fan club in West Palm Beach, near his Mar-a-Lago residence, when he dropped the bizarre statement as he seeks a November reelection for a second term in the White House. “I actually tell our people, we don’t need your vote. We’ve got so many votes,” the bookies favourite for the next President said.

He used much of Friday’s speech to attack presidential rival Joe Biden from numerous angles, including an accusation that the incumbent has supported terrorism while in office. “So in addition to all of his other well-documented offences, Crooked Joe Biden is now also guilty of providing material support for terrorism,” Trump told the large MAGA crowd.

Attacking Biden about problems at the US-Mexico border, Trump said that the US has “never been in danger like it’s in danger right now”, adding: “Just this week ICE has arrested not one, not two, but eight suspected terrorists at the highest level of terrorism.” He referred to the arrests of eight Tajik nationals in Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia - accused of links with ISIS.

Dressed in red, white and blue birthday attire, he lauded himself with claims that zero terrorists entered the US in 2019. “I don't know if I even believe that, but it was certainly a nice report,” Trump added.

He spent much of the speech firing other barbed comments at Biden, saying the country is being “destroyed by incompetent people” and suggesting that all presidents have “aptitude tests” - adding that Biden “doesn’t know where the hell he is”. It came after a video went viral of Biden wandering away from the G7 leaders as they were welcomed into Italy - but Rishi Sunak says Bide n was just going over to talk to another parachutist who had landed.

He accused Joe and Jill Biden of flying repeatedly “back and forth”. Jill Biden had been attending the trial of their son, Hunter, who was convicted last week of three charges including the possession of an illicit firearm.

“It's Air Force One and/or Air Force Two - I mean just back-and forth, back-and-forth, let's go, let's go, sit at a trial for a day, go back, forth, back, forth. It's really terrible,” Trump said about the First Lady. He added of the President: “He flies back and forth and back and forth. He spends a day and then comes back. He falls asleep at every single event.”

Audience members at the party played with red and white balloons as a multi-layered towering cake was brought out. The cake had layers with a variety of nationalist statements and symbols, including a ‘MAGA’ baseball cap, a model of Trump playing golf, the Club 47 logo and the phrase “Born in the USA on Flag Day”.

The event sold out with 5,000 tickets going for 35to35 to 35to60 each, according to Larry Snowden, the president of Club 47. The disgraced former president described it as the “biggest birthday party I’ve ever had by far”.
